When I took my driving test at the tender age of 17, I recall the nerves very clearly. I also recall the dreaded reversing around the corner about halfway through the test, ending up exactly in the middle of the road and having to make a massive correction to finish the requisite distance from the curb.

Having firmly established in my own mind that I had failed, I just relaxed, enjoyed the rest of my 'practice' test and, to my surprise, passed.

Once the pressure was off, I just got on with the job in hand with out the distraction of destructive nervous energy.

So, what (if anything) is putting this QPR team under pressure and what can be done about it?

Personally I will be thoroughly fed up if the pressure / chance of promotion disappears and we start thumping teams for fun!

Perhaps that answers my own question? What do you think?

We could park Keane in the middle of the M6

Obviously the squad isn't old enough to cope with the pressure, perhaps we should sign some players in their 40s or 50s for their experience!

I don't think its pressure, they just don't care, in fact the last game was one of the few where we even looked like we were going to score.

Flyer, I cannot believe they all don't care. What has TF and us, the fans, done to deserve that?!

Have you seen them sleepwalk through games like they think they are 4-0 up before kick off?

90% of the time they just stroll about like they are getting paid on passes completed rather than goals. Theres a few who care and try but they are far outnumbered by the people who don't care and aren't giving close to 100%.

If we go up, most of the squad will be out of a job so why would they try hard if they knowing it will cost them their job? There's a few exceptions like hill but the loans, O'Neill, Jenas etc don't give a crap.

That is either a realistic assessment or very cynical. I hope you are wrong and they play for pride if nothing else.

Have to say, its fairly clear to me that Jenas does care. A number of times now I have seen him celebrating in front of the R'ss fans with a huge amount of passion - Birmingham away recently, plus lots more.

Add to him Hill, Green, Dunne, Barton.

I do agree though, not enough care like they do. The ones above always come over to clap the fans, and at Birmingham actually called all the other players over.

Ekotto usually likes to leave the pitch, and probably the ground, before the game is over. Once again Levy is laughing all the way to the bank, I bet we are paying all of his grossly inflated wage. Some of these blokes - the ones Judo has named - actually like playing football and realise that they haven't got much longer to do it and be paid for it. It must make them pig sick to see a lard arse like Hoilett wasting his talent, with so little time to turn it round.

Don't blame pressure for our situation, the bottom line is the malaise of last season has continued and won't end anytime soon. Too many players who think they're better than they are without realising that the Championship soon finds out the 'Big-time Charlies' who aren't so big-time anymore.

Last night was typical of a team 'going through the motions', there's plenty of possession but no real vigour in our play, the lack of a striker is a smokescreen, a convenient excuse for a team that just isn't a team, but a collection of PL misfits that will never get us up. I really do think with Wigan and Reading hitting form that we could slip out of the play-off places. Our home games against Wigan and Forest are now looking more crucial than we might have imagined and I don't have any confidence that we'll avoid defeat in either game...

Out of the current play off teams we are the best equipped to handle the pressure

All depressing stuff lads. We keep supporting. That's all we can do. I am just glad I don't have to deal with business / money side. TF has my sympathy and best wishes. And the price of my season ticket too of course.

Thats only just started happening when he's talking about a new contract.
That game where he didn't break out of a jog or put any effort in at all made up my mind, fake badge kissing means nothing to me. I still think camp is a twat while others cream their pants when they think of him.

I agree with the others though except green. He might come over but doesn't get mad at conceding or look like he cares.

Also, this has a lot to do with why taarabt left.

    Really DT? Based on what?

We can't handle ourselves with a bit of pressure, let alone if the future depended on it.

Best thing for us now would be drop out of top six and finish the season in tenth. We can then build a squad for the future & without all these loaned players.

The team who I expect to be under most pressure in the next couple of months is Burnley, they've done so well thus far… We on the other hand have been mediocre for most of the season, with flashes of brilliance and utter dross at other times, and we're still 4th? I don't think we're under any pressure at the moment to be honest, most people think we've blown our chance of the autos and we're now looking to secure a play-off place

Really? Teams we were well clear of are breathing down our necks now, Wigan, Reading, Brighton all closing in fast. It's all very well Harry saying we're this and we're that when we can all see we're not. He was praising Keane after Tuesday's game, like Carroll he's a lightweight who'll be little use to us this season. We don't have the firepower to win enough games at this stage of the season. The play-offs, if we reach them, will just compound our misery...

WOW! I could have written the same thing about my test. I messed up badly, then got stuck in a traffic jam, so I rode the clutch and didn't bother with the handbrake all the way back to the centre, steered with only one hand, and PASSED.
It was all about percentages, back then; I should have passed first time, did absolutely nothing wrong, so it was already stamped as a pass this time.
Let's hope the pressure is on Burnley and Derby!

    Based on football
Going into these games better to have a team that controls matches
Goals change games and I am confident still 100%

10th? Sorry it's a fans duty to support and hope/wish always for the best

The sickness with QPR fans is that we are defeated before we start
Bar Burnley and the Foxes the rest of the teams are playing underdog to us each and every time now what you are suggesting we regroup and become an underdog ourselves ... Not in my book
We have resources and have had no option but to buy players because we have a plan ... I warned of this at the start years ago

We haven't changed us fans but the club already has

I want QPR at the top table that will mean today massive debts until we get it right This ride was welcomed by us all regardless of the crass approach and the evil of it all

Burnley if they go up will struggle and maybe have to rebuild as will the foxes

We have to get there now but if we don't then I am certain the club will push even harder that means more money more heartache and more thrills ... That's means pressure and I wouldn't want a sub standard set of players I would want what we have now plus goals

Otherwise it won't matter what players come in to fans on here they will never be right ... Look at flyer etc

Harold if we fail is the one to vent against until then enjoy it

We could consider non performers to be used as 'witches hats' on the M6, as you say.

Truth is, the only pressure that some of the players could really be feeling is the amount of coin going into their accounts each week in return for such little effort.
Any player with half a conscious ( naturally, this comment does not include J. Cesar for he had zero, zip, zilch of a conscious ) would be feeling uneasy at present ................ presumably our strikers.

The rest of the team, from what I hear, seem to be doing their bit.

It is us, the fans that are really feeling the pressure .................. we love our club more than any player and we can't do anything about the situation except support the team.
YES, it is US who is feeling the MOST pressure!

If we lose to Yeovil on Saturday I really think Redknapp will be under pressure to go. I don't think many managers would get away with losing 5 out of 7. He's not bigger than our club.

They absolutely battered us at their place, its the only time I've ever felt embarrassered to get 3 points.

He's too stubborn to go, he will want a payoff because it must be hard to survive on the tens of millions he already has.
