Thanks for posting. A bit more Thudd lovin', a bit more Graham slatin' and a point a piece's a goodun. Oh and a juicy cut down to the bone.
Keep up the good work Stanley. My match report. Mac- cool as. All regulation saves but you just dont feel he's going to spill one do you. Brilliant signing who isnt getting the attention cos of the other brilliant signings, if that makes sense. Rosy- you kow he can defend but his distribution is getting worse. When he ran for a short corner, the old boy behind me stood up and screamed "dont pass it to him"!!!! The reason he wont get dropped is cos of how gash Elmo was!! Faye excellent. We did sit deep to stop their speed on the break mind. Davies- fantastic. Pity about the booking, is that 3 now? Let down for it by Figgy!! Figueroa ,saw someone vote him in the top 3 motm??? kin hell he was gash first half. 3 passes straight into touch. Looked like his head was elsewhere, understandably if it was true about his lad. Got better second half, but it would be hard not too! Elmo, crossing was appalling. Snatched at that shot when there was no need. Bad day at the office. Rightly brought off. Quinn 6/10. Didnt make any mistakes but didnt really create either. Livermore, that kids got an engine. Fantastic all round display. Hudd just a pleasure to watch. The 3 step overs little dance in the first half was just brilliant. Graham. Getting slated on here by people who dont go the games. Excellent work rate. You could see he was detailed to stop Westwood getting the ball and worked his nuts off covering. Villa were a big side, their two CB's made it very physical. He takes the battering for Aluko and others, a thankless job.Got no service whatsoever. Well done to Brucey keeping him on. Aluko. Didnt come off today for him. took too many touches and made too many turns. Especially the chance in the box. Credit to Villa though they'd done their homework on him and crowded him out. First half an hour Villa must have had 70-80% possession. Was really impressed with their movement, took us a while to get to grips with them. My only quibble is we dont attack in numbers. Think we were a bit too scared of getting caught on the counter attack, as thats Villa's game. But you have to gamble sometimes and we just dont get enough bodies in the box. Oh and corners are ****e. We have Davies and Faye to aim for and we cant beat the first man!! FFS I'm happy with a point.
Really? Apart from Vlaar and the other centre half and the one tall striker who clashed heads with Davies, they were ****ing tiny. In fact had they not had football shirts on, I coud have easily thought I was watching an audition for snow white and the seven dwarfs. Now, if you're really, really short yourself, then they may look big - but Villa were a ****ing team of midgets.
Nah dunno what glennons on about. Cant be arsed to wiki the height of Villa's team but they certainly wernt midgets. Oh **** it El ahamdi 6 ft Bacuna 6ft. I write a brilliant round up and get picked up on two words. Honestly.............. Delph was a diving twat anarl
I do feel, Chazzman, that if you've spot-balled me into doing a Sunday Press round-up, then I shall nominate you to do a Chazzman Report, such as today's.......
I didn't say it wasn't a good write up, I just don't think Villa were a big side. They had some height in areas you'd expect - keeper, central defence and up front. Rest of the midfield was under 6' - which is small to me. But then I'm 6'3", 6 out of the starting 11 were mid five footers. Huddlestone seemed massive compared to the Villa midfielders - I thought Delph for the Villa was a tidy player, I thought he was originally a winger? All in all another decent point, keeps our little unbeaten run going. I have to say though, I am surprised at how comfortable we look keeping these teams out. At no point did I really think Villa were going to score, we really do look comfortable in our Premier League surroundings.
Thanks for taking the time-a good read much appreciated. Interesting to read your comments re Graham. Its hard to pick that up when you are watching the game on the internet.
For me the subtle flicked pass with the outside of his left boot second half to take the ball around the Villa player and out to Elmo behind him out on the wing was sheer class!
