The Cincinati masters is now in full swing, this tournament being a prequel to the US Open. Today I have heard that Nadal has pulled out of the US Open, first the Olympics and now this. Can't help wondering if the injury he has is serious - these are two big events he has now pulled out of. Another thing I've been mulling over is Roger Federer. I remember when he first lost his Wimbledon title to RF, I mistakenly thought his career would gradually go into decline and that Nadal would be the new king of the slam, as Federer had done it all there seemed nothing else to aspire to and I expected him to eventually retire and focus on his personal life. I guess he did do that last bit as he got married and had twins but there he was still at the top of his game and now he is back as the world's #1 again, however now that Andy beat him to gold at the olympics seemingly with ease I wonder if Roger Federer is now finally on the decline and if so I wonder if he will consider retiring. Roger is now 30, it's not just the physical side of the game but can it still mean as much to him these days? When interviewed after losing to AM he really did not seem bothered to be taking home a silver medal. All this aside, I think Andy Murray has a really good chance of taking the US Open title.
