So...looking more and more likely that we are going to be relegated...

Obviously this means the likes of Johnson/Giaccherini will be on there way

Ki, Borini, Alonso, Celutska will go back to their respective clubs probably

Diakhite/Cabral will probably be moved on

    On top of Larsson/Gardner/Cuellar/O'****/Bardo/Colback/Westwood/Vaughan/Wickham/Dossena

Vergini/Ustari were taken on 6 month contracts and therefore I imagine will be leaving as well...

    Leaves us with

GK: Mannone (If he doesnt go...), Pickford

    DEF: Roberge, Brown

MID: Catts, Bridcutt, N'Diaye, Mavrias, Karlsson, Ba, Watmore

STR: Graham, Altidore, Fletcher, Graham, Scocco

Defence needs filling it massively, with midfield need some depth

In the championship I'd imagine that forward line would do

Due to the amount of players leaving and also potential transfer fees for Johnson/Giacc, I'd imagine we would have a good amount of money to rebuild with

However it would be another rebuilding season, players getting used to the club and also Poyet's style...therefore I would not expect automatic promotion first year

Sure Wickham has a year left after this season.

Ndayie, Graham, Scocco and Altidore would be sold as would Fletcher if we could get a buyer. Well be lucky to get 25% of what we paid for him.

If we beat Spurs on monday (which for the record I can't see happening) then we're in with a great shout of staying up

If we go down I'd hope to see the likes of Watmore, Ba, Mavrias, Pickford, Moberg Karlsson, Honeyman, Laing and Gorrin join the first team set up and starting to feature to ease the burden on the many transfers we'll need for a 46 league game season

    Two questions for you...
    1) When did we last beat Spurs
    2) When did we last win on a Monday

Records are made to be broken, we just set them for all the wrong reasons.

Id offer Graham plus a million for Jordan Rhodes. Failing that a straight swap for Wickham.

If we stay up we need a massive overhaul in the summer. If we go down we need a similar overhaul but with different budget and targets.

Whatever happens, the legacy of Bruce, MoN and PDC is a squad full of **** all for Gus to work with. He is effectively starting all over AGAIN and writing off 7 totally wasted top flight years. Shambolic.

They paid 8m for Rhodes and he's continued to score goals.

Are you really saying that you value Graham at 7m? Or Wickham at 8m for that matter? Rhodes won't go anywhere for a penny less than 10m IMO.

I know you have some good kids coming through too lads, but old heads are what get you out of the Championship. It's probably the most physical league around. Players like Fletcher, Cattermole, Mannone etc are the ones you'll need. A sprinkling of youngsters added to a strong experienced spine down the middle of your team is what's required.

To be fair you aren't even down yet, not even close to it. A win tomorrow, even a point and you're still very much alive.

I beg to differ with that last sentence. Fulham, Fulham ffs, have a better chance of survival. That is how dire the situation is for us.

Gus Poyet committed to Sunderland as plans are made in case of relegation
    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11695/9252176?
    Poyet plan for all 'eventualities'

"It's not just about now. If I didn't plan ahead, in three years' time - if I'm still here - I will blame myself for not doing it.

"I was talking to (new sporting director) Lee Congerton. He told me a couple of things he was doing, and I was tempted to click on the plan for pre-season in the Championship and have a look.

"We've not put anything in place for that yet, but if people say you're planning for games in the Championship, you're expecting to be there.

"I'm not, but you have to have an element of realism. We need to start planning for all eventualities."

I was preparing for the Championship after we signed players like Bridcock in January.
