This article on the BBC website sums up how financially far behind the top clubs we still are. Swans have around £50m this season, and they have to use that for both buying players and on wages and other things. In 2009-10, Chelsea spent £174m on wages alone. How can we ever compete with that? I suppose it could be worse. At least we have £50m.
We don't need to compete with that. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the richest guys on the planet as their owner. We are a Welsh club from a small Welsh city. We can never compete against the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd etc with the likes of money spent on players and wages. Neither would I want to either. Money dominates football clubs, but not ours. We are in the black and we should stay that way. Buy what we can afford, and don't pay stupid wages. Simples.
