Now let's see, past the halfway point into the league, and runaway leaders it would appear. A convincing win against playoff hopefuls Crystal Palate.
    Five points ahead of Hull
    Six points ahead of Middlesbrough
    Seven points ahead of Palace
    Twelve pointts ahead of Leicester
    Wow!

A big December for us taking maximum points off a number of wanabees.

A long way to go, but it's in our hands.

It's hard not to start believing.

Even if we lose against Milwall (and I don't see that happening given they've only won 1 of the last 5) we'll be top going into the New Year with Brum before the FA cup break. It's got to feel good for the players and give them confidence.

A rest for a number of key players over that weekend will see us firing on all cylinders ready for the tractor boys.

Lets not count chickens before they're hatched.

The boys have done very well, we are in a very strong position and as ccfc says it is in our hands.

However, we have been in such positions before and messed up.

Against that we have the best squad ever and despite what Malky says I am sure he is looking at strengthening in a couple of positions - and we all know where those are.

If we continue to achieve the 20 points per 10 game ratio or better, we will be on 80+ points after 40 games and another 8 points from the last 4 will guarantee us auto promotion if not as champions.

But I'm sure Malky is preaching the "one game at a time" philosophy to ensure everyone keeps their feet well and truly on the ground.

I've been keeping a lid on expectations so far this season but after the last two games, especially at the final whistle today, I allowed myself a brief "could this be the year" moment :D

Agree with bfb though, way too early and anything could happen yet but you have to admit, apart from the occasional blip, we're looking good. Other results and woodwork are in our favour too for a change.

A few additions and who knows?? Keep it going Malky <ok>

I can't ever remember being in such a strong position, since the sixties! Obviously could easily go tits up, but let us not underestimate our position either. We are strong and must strengthen further in January. Any business o person in such an advantageous position would be foolish to waste this one.

What do all you experts think about the guy on loan from WBA at
    Millwall ?

He s done well for them - any chance MM would go after him ?

Forgotten his name, but would like you opinions ?

    Thanks

Wood? Everyone on the LEicester board reckon that he's gone there.

WBA have just got to the premiership and they obviously don't think he's good enough for them. If you're looking for a player for the future I'd be looking at a youngster from the top 4 or looking to nick one from the lower league.

Not sure about this one, though he may do a job.

Although only 21 Chris Wood is not a rookie with over 100 league appearances and 29 New Zealand caps. He averages a goal every 3 games in the last 3 seasons. A bit of a monster at 6 ft 3 ins, we will get a good look at him on Saturday.

Take the last bit back. Looks like he will sign for Leicester in the window and Millwall have sent him back to West Brom.

Millwall fans not happy bunnies with Jacket in the frame for the Forest job. Thought they wanted Prem experience???

But how good is he? Obviously not good enough to fight for a place at WBA. I know they are doing well at the moment, but they are still not a BIG prem club, so if he's not good enough for them........

West brom demonstrate the gulf in class a few years in the pl can provide with proper management. Odemwingie, Long, Lukaku and they're currently fighting for the European places. We're a long way off that. There's no shame for Woods in not being ready yet to challenge those players.
Woods was almost single handedly responsible for Millwalls rise up the table, it brilliant if we don't have to face him (yet) but he'll be a huge asset to Leicester IMO.

Having suffered the sixties, I am keeping my happiness well under control. Those were great times for the expectancy but God! it was an awful end of season so many times!!!!! In fact, every bloody time.
Yet, I look at the gap at the top of the Premier League and I am thinking....it's for MU to lose. Our gap is similar to the first play-off, and I cannot get exulted. I have the faith and hope...but having them dashed so many times won' let me BELIEVE......but I want to.

I mentioned wood a couple of threads ago. He has gone back to West Brom and the word is he's going to Leicester. But knowing how Malky has done business in the past I'll only beleive where he is going when he has gone. There were also rumours Hull have signed him, and that we certainly do not need.
Handy for us he won't be playing on Saturday though.

This will be the year if we bring in the one or 2 players we need. We have fallen down in the past due to the sqaud not being big enough this year we have a big enough sqaud so for me its just about the 1 or 2 players to keep us ahead of the rest.

Fear not, there's no actual rumour Chris Wood will sign for us,just us talking about who we'd like to bring in. Steve Bruce is quoted saying "We are monitoring the situation" no more than that.

I think he'll go to Leicester, though you never know. We could really do with him,but i'm thinking do you really need him ?

Talk of Cardiff falling apart at the end is bollocks imo, your'e a different club now all round, but i wouldn't say it's yours to lose. A five point lead eh ? Good luck to you then:emoticon-0172-mooni
