I know it's the BBC, so should be taken with a pig of salt, but interesting to see that they say over half of the Premier League teams need a new front man when you read through this. http://http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25488699 They get a lot wrong, esp our position, but that's a lot of new strikers required and could see their prices at an all-time high during silly season. Will we, won't we.....
Honestly not sure mate, some see it as a priority position, i dont, take cardiff for example, once we got hold of the midfield we tore them to pieces, we need to strengthen lb (done) cm and wings 1st imo, then possibly we will look at a striker
Disagree mate, we need a striker. Someone like Phillips, Bent who is in the right place at the right time, and only needs one shot. Altidore is good at holding up play to bring others in, but when he's along on goal, he needs to take one touch to much. Need someone who can feed off scraps, as that's all they're going to get. Fletch is good, but injury and a can't-be-arsed attitude will hold him back. Hopefully the goal in Wales got him fired up for more...
For me Fletcher is the Phillips/Bent type in that he puts his chances away,.he has one of the best conversion rates in Europe over the past 3 or 4 seaons. Wickham could come back full of beans and we also have Altidore and Borini . We cant write this strike force off. They simply haven been getting the support/supply and confidence in front of goal has suffered. if they were missing sitter after sitter id be crying out for a striker our priority should be a midfielder to ensure that the like of Gardner and larsson are nowhere near the team.
I've been thinking this for a while. You're not the only ones (group of fans) talking about needing a striker. We've been saying it since before last summer too. If desperation increases through the transfer window period then so will prices - and so will the likelihood of ending up with a very expensive dud!
