What happened to the Arsenal trophy... Was it called 'The Emirates Trophy'?? Or was that the one you just won? I suspect they renamed it as you consistently lost. Congratulations on the Asia Trophy though
Asia Trophy in the bag, Emirates Cup up for grabs and then the mighty Community Shield for the treble. So much jealousy from opposition fans.
thats coz the Moyes out brigade and their fly past got him out. he went from Chosen One to reject in 9 months
So how can he asked to be sacked every season then, if he only lasted 1? Where your manager is asked every season f to be sacked
West Ham will be under immense pressure to stay in the Prem, and with a new manager, inexperienced in the Prem, Bilic has got to be among the favourites for the first to go. Of the bigger clubs, Pelligrini is probably most at risk. Wenger is probably the safest, after their chairman came out and announced to the public that he expects Le Prof to be at the club for another 20 years! But, at the top, every manager is at risk, with consistency being the key factor. I said, last season, that Rodgers would be sacked, and I was amazed that he managed to cling on to power, albeit that he's had a warning-shot across his bows with the appointment of McAllister immediately below him. I think the loss of both Gerrard and Sterling has given him an immence amount of breathing-space, because no one (except their deluded fanbase) will be expecting 'Pool to finish among the top 4. 5th or 6th spot will probably buy Rodgers at least another year in office, but any less could see him booted out of Klanfield. Van Gaal is the hardest one to call among the top managers. I think all the United board expect of him is to finish among the top 4, in order to consolidate their place in the Prem, following Fergie's departure and the horrors of Moyes. I think United will achieve that comfortably, so I really cannot see Van Gaal's job coming under any pressure. Other than than, it will come down to results. Any manager who goes on a bad run of results leading up to Xmas and, thereafter, the end of the season, could see himself under fire (except for Wenger).
I think that with the money already spent in his tenure that the Utd board will be expecting more than that - I think they expect a title challenge. If the Dutch robot doesn't produce a credible challenge, and/or a decent run in the CL, he could be for the executioner's block.
The thing is nobody will really push UTD, £££, Chavbus or Arsenal, so its between the Spuds, Liverpool and Southampton, the press is on Brenda more than anyone else.
Brenda would still be my favourite, at the moment. But, if you read what I wrote, I think the Yoounited board are expecting more than just top four - I think they expect a title chalkenge. If the Dutch robot can't deliver!....
Wouldn't surprise me if Van Gaal underwhelms and leaves at the end of the season or very late on but I can't believe he's got a serious chance of being first manager out.
I think the idea that any one team can be expected to dominate the Prem is one that chairmen will have to relent on, otherwise they'll never get a decent manager to take on long term projects. It's far too unreleastic to expect that any side will win the Prem every season. Does anyone really expect Mourhino to get the sack if he fails to win the Prem again? Of course, not. So why should anyone expect that Van Gaal will get the boot if, whilst finishing in the top 4, he will get the boot for failing to win the title? Sorry, but I cannot see chairmen going with that. Top 4 is the only requirement for any of last season's top 4. For sides like us, 'Pool, and perhaps Everton and The Toon, getting top 7 is the minimum goal, with a sign that the team is competing for top 4, will be enough to ensure the manager's survival.
If you finish seventh there will be a huge consensus from Spurs fans to get rid. I don't think any fans of the top four would be happy with fourth at all.
