I reckon you could make a pretty awesome championship team from them. There must be at least a couple that we could/should be looking at. I think there are a lot better keepers than Kenny available there as well

Nicky Shorey stands out for me and Jose Bosingwa although wages would kill it with him.

3 words as to why we'd strugle to attract any of these players; wages, wages, wages.

Not all of the players. I doubt Craig Gordan would command huge wages and I think he is better than Kenny

A few others like Assulin and Faye could be worth a crack. Obviously players like Kalou we'd struggle to get

Kalou to replace Gradel and Bosingwa for the RB slot. Can't even see Bates having any trouble paying wages for these players.

I like the idea of McFadden. Very creative player who can score a few. You never know re. wages.

If wages weren't a problem, then I think Saha would top my list.

Craig Gordon last week turned down a three year deal with Celtic. I can't say why he did this, except to say that perhaps the wages of around £15,000 per week were not what he wishes to work for. He has no other offers and having not played first team football for some time, it's amazing that he appears to think he's worth more than £15,000 per week. Celtic have now signed Forster from Newcastle on a permanent deal.

McFadden is a pain in the arse to be honest, he moans almost 100% of the time and isn't a team player. His time has come and gone and I would suggest the training he's doing with Motherwell just now, may be his best option for a permanent 1 year deal.

What a list! Thanks Josh. Standouts for me immediately are Hugo Rodallega and Ricardo Fuller, they would kill Championship defences with their pace and power

Zak Whitbread may be useful for the squad, did well at this level.

Paul Scharner (No brainer, class act)
Owen Hargreaves (Worth a shot if he is up for it)
Peter Lovenkrands (13 in 29 for Newcastle in Championship)
Gai Assulin (One for the future)
    Ryan Donaldson (Good prospect)
Jordan Cook (Needs a second chance as he has talent)

    Anytime for you Billys <ok>

Definitely agree with Scharner and Hargreaves. Would love for us to get Assulin and he would replace Gradel quite well I feel. Lovenkrands did well at championship level with Newcastle but hasn't done anything since, that could work but it might not, not sure I'd take that risk

I don't know anything about Ryan Donaldson and Jordan Cook though
