    Man City 4/6
    Liverpool 5/1
    Man Utd 6/1
    Chelsea 12/1
    Tottenham 12/1
    Arsenal 25/1
    Everton 200/1
    Leicester 300/1
    Wolverhampton 400/1
    Newcastle 500/1
    Burnley 500/1

Man City clear favourites and have every reason to be odds on. Interesting that Liverpool are 2nd favourites, I'm not sure how this season justifies that.

I wouldn’t touch that market until after the summer window shuts, but laying the RS at 5/1 and then covering it when they invariably lengthen looks tempting there.

Lay Spurs and guarantee an 8% return in nine months.

Wolves would be a good cheeky bet, if they spend big

Not that it’s what Kustard is getting at but you could take a view that it’s a good time to back then on BF with a view to laying it off before August if you’re expecting the price to come in drastically. There probably wouldn’t be the cash available on there to do it anyway but in theory could work.

I think laying Spurs for anyone who has a spare £100k to invest is a sound option for the return.

How does this work, I've never looked into it. So if you lay spurs for 100k at 12/1, what does that mean?

    You’d multiply by 12.

So your bet would be, say, £10k and you’d win £10k if they don’t win the league but lose £120k if they do. You wouldn’t actually get 12/1 anyway. Probably 14ish on BF if it’s 12s in the high street.

Basically you’re the bookie, so you’d take £8k worth of bets on Spurs at 12/1 which would make your potential loss £96k if they won the league and you’d pocket the £8k in they fell short.

Can you set the odds or do you go with what betfair sets?

You do, to a point. As if your lay offer is way off the market you’ll not get any punters.

Cool. I'll look into that. I think it could be a sound idea for short term investments, like Windies said.

Just open a Betfair account and you can play with it. There’s 2 versions of Betfair, the traditional bookie version is called Sportsbook. The exchange is just Betfair.

If you’re looking at small stakes it’s fine. The problem you’ll have with big money is finding someone to take the bet.

I don't get it, even after Windy and Tobes broke it down.

I've had a few strong Spliffs in the last hour...I prefer to be watching things or just passively reading. Thinking isn't happening

basically, windy is saying if you want to make money, then bet on Tottenham NOT winning the league. It's a great way to make 8% on your investment <laugh> i.e. you boys have no chance
