please log in to view this image Arsenal is very much cherished and still regarded as a precocious pupil but after dropping Spanish and French from his timetable this year, some teachers were concerned he could be slipping in with a bad crowd. To his credit he has shown improvements to his efforts in recent weeks, but given the funds available to his parents some investment in additional home schooling could be beneficial to him (C). please log in to view this image Aston Villa: A nice, local boy, Aston can be guilty of hiding in the group and doing the bare minimum to stay unnoticed. We are very aware that a couple of his best friends moved up North over the summer, which is always difficult, but we feel that he still a little reluctant to really showcase his true potential and is prone to coasting (B-). please log in to view this image Blackburn Rovers: Burnie is having a difficult time this year, and we are very worried that the negative vocal impact of his disgruntled family is weighing heavily on his mind. His effort cannot be questioned but some serious improvements to concentration and attention to detail in his work need to be seen as soon as possible (D). please log in to view this image Bolton Wanderers: Bolton really caught the eye on the first day back, with a lovely new satchel, a neat pencil tin and a shiny pair of shoes. However, since then his appearance and efforts have slipped alarmingly, highlighted when he turned up for a lesson without a pair of trousers on and was ridiculed quite heavily by one of the more affluent boys. (D) please log in to view this image Chelsea: Despite being the youngest in her year group, Chelsea can be pleased with her efforts this term. She has shown a much greater interest in the artier subjects, than in recent years, and her Spanish has developed pleasingly after hitting disastrous levels last year. However, a recent ugly confrontation with one of her neighbours was regrettable, especially when she blamed said flashpoint on 'the Drog eating her homework following an over enthusiastic lunge' (B). please log in to view this image Everton: 'Toni is such a dedicated and hard-working student and has constantly over achieved despite her cash-strapped family struggling to provide for her. Despite this, she must endeavour to keep applying herself and not adopt a defeatist attitude because she has no reason to fear her summer exams (C). please log in to view this image Fulham: It has been quite a difficult term so far for Fulham, although we are aware that he started his lessons extremely early, while most other pupils were still away on their holidays. He has shown a unique eye for Art, especially sculptures, but a bit more application on excelling in the core subjects to supplement this would benefit him (C-). please log in to view this image Liverpool: There is no doubt that out of all the pupils in class, Liverpool has to put up with the pushiest and most expectant parents. After topping up his pencil case with a number of local bits of expensive stationery, we were worried he could have picked up some cheaper deals through the school. However, in fairness he has responded well and can be relatively pleased with his efforts so far, especially given this is a transitional period in his life (B-). please log in to view this image Manchester City: Man C has performed brilliantly so far this year, and it is very evident that his additional one-on-one tutoring has really transformed his classroom performance. If only all our kids could afford private education! An incident on a German exchange was a slight disappointment, but nevertheless we have high hopes for a string of top grades from him come the summer and we hope to see him staying on into the Six-one-th form (A). please log in to view this image Manchester United: Man U has had a funny term so far. He excelled in the first few weeks back and despite providing great entertainment to his peers and a real creative flair in all of his subjects, he has increasingly made silly errors which have undermined the general way his work is received. In fairness we do have extremely high expectations of him, and he is constantly reminded of this, but he needs to keep applying himself to fulfil his great potential (B).
please log in to view this image Newcastle United: Toon has surprised everyone with his attitude, application and performance since the summer holidays. He previously had a habit of making things difficult for himself with a series of baffling decisions but, this year, he has been extremely organised and has shown a particular aptitude for French. The only caveat is that he's not really had anything too taxing to do so far, but all in all he can be delighted with his efforts. Keep it up! (A*). please log in to view this image Norwich City: Norwich has settled into her new environment extremely comfortably and has quickly been accepted by her peers which is a good sign. She combines a diligent attitude with a refreshing enthusiasm to get involved, although in her first few weeks we were worried by how many penalties she conceded for being late to her challenges. Thankfully she appears to have been taken this on board and looks particularly settled (A-). please log in to view this image Queens Park Rangers: Another new girl, Queens has adapted okay to life here although she has a very confrontational habit of giving her opinion on most subjects, often when she should, perhaps, keep her head down and focus on her own work. After starting with a slightly ill-fitting uniform and trademark hooped earrings, her recent purchases have made her look much more presentable, and we hope she is able to continue in this fashion (C+). please log in to view this image Stoke City: Stoke is a very hardworking and practical boy who, perhaps, is dismissed as a bit one-dimensional by those who don't know him. What is abundantly clear is that he has responded very well to being given permission to take part in a number of field trips abroad this year, impressing his teachers with his can-do attitude. Stoke is more comfortable in woodwork class and physical education, and could benefit from an increased appreciation for the arts (B). please log in to view this image Sunderland: I think Sunderland's teacher was expecting the hand-me-downs, that she was lucky enough to inherit from some of our prestigious former alumni, to really enhance her studies this year. However, it seems that she doesn't really know what her forte is just yet, showing both signs of encouragement and an alarming propensity to underachieve (C-). please log in to view this image Swansea City: The final new pupil to join the class, Swansea, has definitely won a number of admirers. His handwriting is beautifully crafted and it's clear from his attention to detail that he wants to complete his tasks in the manner that his textbook advises. However, despite the excellence of his homework, he has definitely underachieved when he's not under his own roof, and that will need to change for him to excel when it matters come the end of the year exams (B-). please log in to view this image Tottenham Hotspur: Tottenham was disappointingly absent for the first fortnight of term, and we sincerely hope she doesn't regret it come May. However, once she made it back from an extended summer break we have been delighted with her continued progress. Totty works with an incredible speed and flair and is definitely a popular member of the class. We are expecting big things of her because she really does have an awful lot going for her (B+). please log in to view this image West Bromwich Albion: West was particularly unlucky to be given a number of difficult assignments in the first few weeks back. We appreciate that he struggled a touch but he should also be commended for both his enthusiasm towards those tasks and his application in the last few weeks. West is hard-working, organised and very grounded and is a credit to his elderly Uncle Roy who has raised him in recent times (B-). please log in to view this image Wigan Athletic: Wigan is a credit to his parents who encourage him to conduct his studies in a diligent and detailed manner. However, there is a concern that this extremely personable boy is struggling to keep on top of his workload and it might be beneficial to focus on a more vocational career path, rather than the top flight university he has set his sights on (D). please log in to view this image Wolverhampton Wanderers: Wolverhampton has become strangely agitated in the last few weeks and has a definite tendency to communicate his frustration when things don't go his way. We have been slightly surprised by the manner in which he has lost his way in the last few weeks, particularly after a very bright fortnight back after the summer. If he doesn't continue to progress we have a real worry he could be left behind which is shame given his clear potential (C-). Please don't be too harsh on your kids, it's only half term, and thank you Tom Hooper, at MSN Sport
After plowing through Parts 1,and 2,making copious notes en route, preparing to give you an A,for a great effort,I find you've been cribbing again!!! Bad boy, detention for you. On a more serious note ,Dragon,I went through both threads with the proverbial fine tooth comb, but I couldn't find Cardiff City anywhere. Enjoyed the threads, anyway, just what the doctor ordered at 3 in the morning.
There's no pleasing some!! Anyway I put this up late after coming back from the pub, spotted it on MSN, who never keep an article for long, which normally is a good thing as most of their article are rubbish, but I felt that this one should not be missed so transfered the info over here, sorry about the Part1 and Part 2, as Not 606 kept telling me I had exceeded 1000, words, forgot about merging, well done Scotty! Thai your encourageable............... please log in to view this image
The character limit thing is a nightmare isn't it? There's loads of stuff I'd like to include in the match threads but it's fairly limiting...
Sure is Scott, must admit never thought about merging though, top marks for that! Off to watch my sons play footy, catch you later............. please log in to view this image
Hmmm so you can exceed the 1000 word limit by merging posts? That is worth considering Scott or you can ask Mick if he can increase the word limit for moderators up to 1500 words
I bet if you go into "Edit Post" then click "Save" it tells you you're over the character limit... In fairness, I could include more but the bigger it gets I think people are more likely to just skim over it!
