    Except us and Everton.

Carlisle chairman blasts Premier League clubs after only Everton and Sunderland offer prizes for a raffle to help flood clear-up

Carlisle United chairman Andrew Jenkins has blasted Premier League clubs for ignoring his ask for help when the club's Brunton Park stadium was flooded last month.

Jenkins, 79, claims he wrote to Premier League sides requesting prizes for an auction where the funds raised would have gone towards helping the clean-up.

Carlisle's FA Cup fourth round opponents Everton and Sunderland were the only ones that Jenkins heard back from.

Carlisle United chairman Andrew Jenkins claims Premier League clubs ignored his calls for help last month

League Two Carlisle's Brunton Park ground was badly affected by the floods across Cumbria last month.

My son held a dinner for the Cumbria Flood Recovery Appeal,' Jenkins said to The Sun. 'We made about £4,000 on an auction and about £14,000 altogether.

“I had written to a few clubs. The big London ones, large clubs in the North West, some much closer to home here, and even north of the border.'

'Sunderland sent three items, one of which was four tickets to their game with Man City. Everton sent some memorabilia to be auctioned and Rangers sent us something.

Carlisle said Sunderland also offered a prize to the raffle where funds raised would help with the clean up.

Carlisle, 11th in League Two, hope to spring an upset at home against Everton in the FA Cup on Sunday.

'But that was it. I was disappointed with some of the big clubs. They couldn't even send a shirt or something like that.'

Carlisle, 11th in League Two, welcome Premier League Everton to their ground on Sunday.

United have probably put 5x the tax in HMRC's pocket than you lot have in the last year at least, who pays for flood defences, the flood fairies?

****ing moaning that his little begging exercise didn't go to plan.

Edit: They've also had TWO cup ties with Premier League teams this season alone, I'd hope we'd support local smaller teams before that lot in any case.

Takes nowt to put a match worn shirt in a big envelope and send it. Their out going mail will be picked up from the club offices, they don't even need to go to the post office to send it.

Preston let them use their stadium and Newcastle offered them facilities as well if I'm not mistaken.

Not disputing the fact mate, but the fact that you've put 4 times the tax = 4 times the revenue. It wouldn't be that hard as Bri has said just to put a match worn or signed shirt in the post now would it. It's small gesture that would go a long way to helping a club in dire need of it.

I'd rather the shirt went to charities or sick kids or something... I'd rather it went in the bin than to somebody who's gonna moan to the press about you if you don't jump through their hoop.

Maybe he'll screw himself out of some possible loan deals for players from bigger clubs.

He could sign Messi and Ronaldo but they'd be useless without a pitch to run around on.

Well let's wait and see if he spent his own 'windfall' from the cup ties against Liverpool and Everton on the flood clean up.

Begging for help is fine, if you don't moan to the press when you don't get what you want, like some ****ing whining bitch.

I'm not saying he's right for going to the press, but i would have expected more help from EPL clubs mate.

What's he done with the £14,000? Was the ground not insured or something? Has he spent it on the locals in the area helping them recover their losses?

He's seen an opportunity for a little fund raiser and he's not been showered with millions of pounds, **** him.

Manchester flooded also, as did half of Yorkshire, I don't give a **** that my club ignored this ****'s stupid ****ing letter in hindsight.
