and about time I reckon ...

The Premier League says its clubs will be punished with a points deduction if they breach new spending controls.
Each team will not be allowed to make a total loss of more than £105m over the next three seasons and must limit their player wage bills from next season.
"If people break the £105m we will look for the top-end ultimate sanction range - a points deduction," said Premier League boss Richard Scudamore.
The rules are designed to improve the financial sustainability of clubs.

It’s a good time to be an Accountant with all the bonuses that’ll be going around.

Wont make much diffefence to the big clubs. Their wealthy owners will just give the club a large business loan payable over a long period or on sale of the club.

As for wages players wilo just get more in images rights which is NOT technically part of their wage. No need for brown paper bags they just need a semi decent accountant or businessman. Ellis if your reading this I am currently available at a ver decent rate ;)

The only real financial fair play would be giving all the clubs the same cap on total out goings. It would encouage clubs to home grow players rather than buy them.

The biggest issue with this is that it's the premier league implementing it - I think it could kill the English game as players will go where the money is and where they are not as limited to their earnings. If your club tell you "We can't pay you any more than £xxx due to the rules the English Premier League have brought in" and over in Germany, France or Spain the players are offered more money then what is likely to happen? Majority of player (unfortunately) will follow cash rather than being loyal and this could be problematic for the premier league IMO

If FIFA had introduced it to world football then this wouldn't be an issue but, as it's been introduced by the PL, I think there could be problems

Let the money chasers go. Let the best players go. I would have no problem with more home grown British players playing in the top flight. We have far too many foreign players in the league as it is.

We were in the top 30 revenues in Europe so I think this could benefit us. Id be worried if i were the likes of Wigan and other teams who struggle to get 20,000 through the turnstiles. Could see the return of the likes of Leeds, Sheff Wed/Utd to the premier league

The Big rich clubs will still be the Big rich clubs and dominate the trophies.

Nothing with them will change and I'll bare my arse in Fenwicks window if the FA ever have the nuts to deduct points from say Man Utd, City or Chelsea and take on their lawyers.

They will chuck the book at smaller clubs though and then pat themselves smuggly on the back and think they are doing a great job.

This will have no effect whatsoever on our domestic game.
