So, this season has marked the 20th anniversary of the start of the Premier League, aand in 2 weeks we will have had 20 years of Premier League football. A lot of sites are doing votes, so we should to. So this is the Premier League 20th Anniversary Liverpool FC awards. Here are the categories. These apply to Premier League football only and no other competition. 1 - Best home kit. 2 - Best away kit. 3 - Worst kit (home or away) 4 - Best looking opposition team kit. 5 - Best LFC goal keeper. 6 - Best LFC defender. 7 - Best LFC Midfielder. 8 - Best LFC striker. 9 - LFC villain. 10 - Best opposition player. 11 - Best LFC manager. 12 - Best opposition manager. 13 - Best LFC signing. 14 - Best British LFC player. 15 - Best foreign LFC player. 16 - Most memorable LFC match. 17 - LFC hero of the last 20 years. 18 - Best 11 (team) with LFC players from the Premier League era. I was going to give this thread a miss but then I started thinking about it. So here goes: 1 - Best home kit. Haven't got one. My favourite is the Classic kit when we first adopted the all red strip but that was well before the Prem 2 - Best away kit. Ditto 3 - Worst kit (home or away) Either the Green or the Grey kit 4 - Best looking opposition team kit. Don't know 5 - Best LFC goal keeper. Reina 6 - Best LFC defender. Hypia 7 - Best LFC Midfielder. Gerrard 8 - Best LFC striker. In the Prem - Fowler 9 - Best opposition player. Henry 10 - Best LFC manager. Rafa 11 - Best opposition manager. Don't know. In terms of titles then Ferguson but both Wenger and Moyes deserve a shout 12 - Best LFC signing. Not in the Prem but the first CL Semi against Chelsea 13 - Best British LFC player. Close between Gerrard and Fowler 14 - Best foreign LFC player. Being greedy Alonso and Hypia 15 - Most memorable LFC match. haven't got an answer or still waiting for it 16 - LFC hero of the last 20 years. Gerrard and Fowler 17 - Best 11 with LFC players from the Premier League era. still working on that
1 - Best home kit. ----- I think LFC have had some awful kits to be frank. I think the plainer the kit the better to stnadard charter one is prob good. 2 - Best away kit.--- controversially i think the white 3rd kit this yea ris the best we've done. Its not traditional but it works doesn't it... 3 - Worst kit (home or away) stan colly more with a scissors to the home kit with the RIDICULOUS neck collar.... evertons kit (we all know the one) is worst. 4 - Best looking opposition team kit.... hmmmmm.... couldn't put one down, they are all a blur. I'd only say perhaps utds black one with the retro strings was a design that if you leave rivalry out was something different at the time. 5 - Best LFC goal keeper... very easy, Reina. 6 - Best LFC defender.... very easy Hyppia 7 - Best LFC Midfielder.... very easy, gerrard (kudos to hamann and alonso) 8 - Best LFC striker...... Also VERY easy. Fowler but owen would be a close second due to 2001. Torres would be thrid but based on one seasons goals. 9 - LFC villain.... obviously owen with mcmanaman a not too close second. Torres trials in cos who'd expect a spainard to show loyalty, just keep your word son thats all. 10 - Best opposition player.... FOr me bergkamp, giggs, henry... no particular order. 11 - Best LFC manager.... King kenny for saving us from relegation (half joking) Rafa was too mad and tactically constrianing and houllir was too aloof. rafa delviered two glorious memories and 4 frustrating years were only rarely did the gift of joy get given to the fans by the players.. If kenny hands us an FA cu ptheres two great memories o ntheir own! Souness was awful and evans annyoing cos he had it so close but was unprofessional and his players were let run wild. 12 - Best opposition manager. very very easy ferguson. 13 - Best LFC signing.... Is this an eleven in a 442 or just best 11 period. I'd go 4-4-2. I like it more than the Carlsburg sponsor one for some reason. 2 - Best away kit- Gonna throw this out there and say that I really did like the grey away kit. 3 - Worst kit (home or away)- The yellow away kit we had in like 06/07 or some year around then. 4 - Best looking opposition team kit- Chelsea away kit of this season. 5 - Best LFC goal keeper - Easily Pepe Reina. Jerzy Dudek a close second based purely on 2005 CL final. 6 - Best LFC defender- Sami Hyypia, hands down. 7 - Best LFC Midfielder- Steven Gerrard 8 - Best LFC striker- Robbie Fowler. 9 - LFC villain- Fernando Torres, based on the fact he left us when we were off form, after we stuck by him when he was off form. 10 - Best opposition player- Thierry Henry 11 - Best LFC manager- Rafa Benitez.
