Premier League changes rules on 'weakened' teams Top-flight clubs will now be allowed to pick any player in their 25-man matchday squad without fear of sanction from the Premier League. The 20 Premier League clubs agreed at their AGM in early June that any combination of players named in their registered 25-man squads will be able to start a match. The head of communications at the Premier League Dan Johnson confirmed that all the clubs were in favour of the rule change. The rule has not been totally withdrawn, and clubs will still be at risk of a fine if they select a number of younger players from outside their 25-man squad. Sorry for another article lads(last one for a while) I thought this would be worth knowing for those that dont know
Should put that one over on the Wolves board .. bloody disgrace that they (and Blackpool) got hit with a £25K fine for changing a pile of their players even though they chose from their 25 man squad and included several internationals ... was only considered weak compared to the second string of the likes of the top 4 .. at least this is a bit of common sense .. Anyway good to know .. ta ..
I loved McCarthy's quote the week after they changed their team. He said that he'd made 9 changes to the team from the week before, so he should be charged again...
