Somewhere on this list is at least 1 name that will be at St Mary's next year! No I'm not ITK I'm just convinced that NC and NA will be targetting prem players and these would have to be prime targets http://www.premierleague.com/staticFiles/14/79/0,,12306~162068,00.pdf
question is - who would you like to see at saints? my pick would be: Reo-Coker McFadden Pantsil Hargreaves (lol) Kuqi Barnes Spector Upson Koumas Rooney (Not the real one, but it would be good to have a Rooney!) not necessarily realistic, but any of them could do well for us? Thoughts?
I'd love to see Lee Bowyer and James McFadden, perhaps Kamara and Kuqi, How what about Matthew Upson anyone? If not then perhaps you'd fancy Jason Koumas?
They may be free, but they're not cheap. They will want high wages and a signing on fee. What we are looking for is a player who is Championship/Prem standard, but is also hardworking, a team player, and realistic. There is no room for time-servers with huge egos. What can I do for Saints, not what can Saints do for me.
Jason Koumas is a player with loads of talent and loads of attitude. He starts at a club well, then gets dropped when they realise he doesn't graft like he should. Shame, but no thanks.
Fran, you are quite right, but quality doesnt come cheap, this way you save the transfer fee outlay, for arguments sake £5m saved on a transfer can now be turned into £32k a week wages over a 3 year deal. add that to what you would have paid the player you were buying anyway and it becomes financially much more realistic.
What about signing Tom Cruise? Harry Forrester and Isaiah Osbourne are meant to be good. Jlloyd Samuel might be a bit out there, still think Riccardo Gardner could do a job as well. Think Spector and Gabbidon might be able to do a job as well, or even JOdy Craddock.
absolutely. Every time I've seen Koumas he looks brilliant, but father in law is season ticket holder at Wigan and said that he just doesn't work and becomes a liability. I mean who would want to build a team around a lzt but very talented midfielder who could keep you up all on his own?
The name Puncheon hovered on my lips but I resisted. We can't always pick on him. There must be some other talent-wasting, lazy, sulking, egotist we could use as an example
I wouldn't be surprised if we go for a youngster, someone like Nikola Saric who has been unlucky with an injury but has a bit of talent.
Most of them are on the scrap heap because they're either crap..or lazy...or trouble..or injury prone...I could go on. By all means, take a few of 'em, it'll make it all the easier turning you over again next season
Funny, those were the exact words that Ipswich fans used to describe David Norris. Now I wonder where he ended up?...Hmm...
We'll just have to wait and see about Norris, my little sash wearers won't we? Saw him last year and he was deffo their best player that day.
