I know on other threads people are talking about bringing in more strikers but I want to see what people feel is the best or could be the most effective strike partnership out of our current squad. At the moment Mad Dog obviously prefers the Keds-Burton partnership but would that work if we were in League One for instance? I personally found the Kedwell-Strevens partnership against Bristol City very exciting but I don't want that to make me sound as if I have anything against Burton, Birchall or Miller because I don't. Having these strikers in our squad is however much more a luxury than a hinderance.

The one I would like to see is Kedwell Birchall as that is the one we wanted last season but I doubt that one will ever come together it is more likely to be Kedwell with Weston, also I think Burton Miller would work well.

I would like to add I don't think much of Kedwell and Burton together as there is not enough pace it is Kedwell or Burton and someone else, we do need one of them on the pitch in my opinion but not both as they do the same type of job also with Strevens I am not sure as I have not seen him to much, seen him on as a sub a few times and he looks OK not sure where he would fit in as a starter he is more of a back up player.

At the moment it is Kedwell and Weston even though Weston is not a striker it does work but if we were to play Weston in midfield I would like to give Birchall a go with Keds.

Horses for courses I reckon. So does MA it seems.

Burton with A.N.Other away. Burton seems a good outlet, very experienced and has scored all bar one of his goals away from home.

Keds with A.N.Other at home. Weston if we are faced with a slow opposition defence. Or any of the others in the rotation pecking order.

Like Hoadie, I would love to see Birch start cracking them in. A first choice of Kedwell / Birchall front pairing would be home grown (Kent anyway), little and large, fast and not so, provider and taker. It would tick all my boxes of a legendary gills strike force that would go down alongside Price/Westwood or Cascarino/Shearer.

I hope in the next few years it becomes so.

As for another striker? I don't see the need. We don't struggle for goals.
If we need to splash the cash in January I think it should be to ensure Vincelot / Wright or someone of that caliber is here permanently to keep the midfield strong for our 2nd half push. I would say Flanagan too, but I think in Davies and Essam we have good enough young CB's to partner Adam Barrett and Framps.
