Being tired of news about krypto-fascist managers and dead Prime ministers, I did the BBC predictor to see who I though would go down.

QPR and Reading were the bottom two teams, as you would expect, but the next six teams were separated by only 3 points. Tense stuff.

Trying to be as realistic as possible, my third team for the drop was, curiously enough, Aston Villa. Wigan squeaked by in 4th from bottom and we finished just ahead of the mags in 14th.

    Fingers crossed!

Need points on the board sharpish, that's for sure. Gotta be one at the mags, something at Villa and then home wins v Stoke and Soton.

Realistic as possible!! come on. There is only 6 games left and you think we will turn over a 5 point swing over our neighbours. Please post what you think what we will get in our last few games just so we can see how realistic you are being.

I have looked at this many times. My problem is trying to divorce myself from being a fan and looking at our obvious deficiencies and the fact we seem to be in free fall. The 2 games I have the most problem with is Newcastle and Stoke. My heart says 4 points...my head says 1 point. My head tells me we are down. I hope the PDC effect will kick in..it simply has to.

Got us down for a win at Sid James. I think the Fulham win allows them to focus on Thursday's game and it will be hard to reproduce that effort on Sunday. Plus we are due a result and if Paolo can't get them up for that we are really ****ed.

1 point ahead of Villa and Wigan going into the last day and we'll be fine as they play each other...

I think much for Sunderland depends on the next two games. Lose to us and Everton and I think it will look ominous. Beat us and I think you might carry that into Everton. I think the minimum Sunderland need from the derby is a point. Being honest I could see the worst happening, we have been on a murderous run of games now, and players were looking seriously tired on Sunday. A big effort on Thursday may see more pulled muscles and some really tired legs come Sunday.

If we were without the tiredness I would fancy us, I just think we have better players overall and we are pretty good at home. I just think you'll be bang up for it and catch us a bit cold early. We'll see but hopefully both clubs will do enough between now and the seasons end. I've done the predictor twice. I had us winning in the first one and you ended up relegated. Then I had you winning in the second one and we both survived. It'll probably be a draw again <laugh>

I must have done it a million times. And each time we are comfortably safe. I don't this happening in reality.

I ended on Wigan down on 37, and us & Stoke skin-of-the-teething it on 38.

I have to say, I was generous to the teams around us as well, Villa have a smashing run in and they have Benteke, for me they aren't under threat.

Norwich have a close to dream run in, it's 1 from 3.

I think we'll beat Everton and be safe by the end of the Stoke game. point off the mags and a point off villa. that's 8 points. I've only got wigan picking up two point before the arsenal game (west ham and west brom). I have stoke only picking up 2 points max. Villa will be very interesting as 4 of their last 6 games are six pointers.

Wigan to go, possibly Stoke. Along with Reading and QPR.

    Sat 23 A West Brom 2 - 1
    March 2013
    Sat 02 H Fulham 2 - 2
    Sat 09 A Queens Park Rangers 3 - 1
    Sun 17 H Norwich City 1 - 1

If I'm not mistaken was there a defeat at home to Villa also? If so that should be added to that list....

Interesting how our views have changed since before the derby. How optimistic are we now?

Beating the mags was sort of predictable for the reasons given, but beating Everton as well is massive. If we can get a point (or better) at Villa, then we can relax for the home games against Stoke and Soton.
