Five threads have been started for this years prediction league 1 Main / link thread 2 Rules thread 3 Posting thread 4 Future posting thread 5 League positions thread Five others I used to set them up with "ignore" in the title are now redundant and either the Mods could delete for me or we can let them wither on their own buy zero posting I have entered Yorkie and Ak as they are both away for now and also 10 others who have expressed interest. Everybody else who would like to take part please either say so here or on the league positions thread where starters are getting under orders. I will update League positions as I did towards the end of last year as soon as I can after the conclusion of each week's matches I do not know how to create the links from one thread to another - these do not stop the whole thing running so can be ignored but would be a help if anyone can tell me how to put links in - I suspect Ak and BHD certainky can. Other than that I can only say welcome to all who wish to take part and good luck to one and all. Cheers Lenny
To create a link to another page: PHP: The text goes here Example: PHP: This is the Watford Observer sport page This is the Watford Observer sport page
NNW - - you won't believe how far behind you have just left me Any chance you can give me a step by step - e.g do I just type in PHP code: and then how do I get the little box with the red and blue writing in and how do I define the text needed to locate the correct link thread. Sorry to be quite so thick !!!!
Step one: Copy the web address of the page you want to link to. Step two: Click the icon highlighted below. Step three: Paste the web address you just copied, and then click "OK". The first three steps will have created code that looks like this: Step four: Highlight the bit in the middle, and delete.
Step five: Type in the text that you want other people to see. The link should now look like this: Welcome to the prediction league
I've got that far so now I have the link and text in a box - how do I then get it from there to the thread - if you see what I mean - it is sitting in an open box - don't worry - I think I have got it - just it ended in the wrong place but I se the principle - let me play with it for a bit - you are a great teacher
NNW - the above all worked fine except that I can't seem to get the link in the correct place - as I am using "reply" to post it so it goes in as a separate message rather than in a list as SLB had them - how do I get to post the link in the correct place?
I've just realised that there's an easier way to add links. Unfortunately I don't have access to paint, but hopefully this will make sense. Firstly, type out your post without adding any links. For example, your original post seems to be laid out well, and I presume that you want the following to be links: To link to the rules thread, all you would need to do is highlight "2 Rules thread", and then follow steps 1, 2 and 3 above. When you click on "Edit Post", the button from step two should still be there.
No probs. and thanks to NNW for showing me how to add links. Hornette - can I suggest that you make the Posting Thread sticky for a month or so to encourage people to see it and sign up - ta L
We have 26 entrants in the league so far - hoping that regulars from last year - SalisburyKev, KcHorn, Zen and 2 RossJenkins will take part again too - as well as any others who fancy dipping a toe in the water
No - don't tell Yorkie but there is a hidden rule that says anyone with York in the name is deducted 25 points per game
you can just write the title of the link, such as Watford Not 606 Forum, then highlight it . then just click the link button and add the web address . then yuo'redone
