I agree I think we will get a point, we have a strong defence and now we got Huddlestone and Livermore a good midfield. I also think Sagbo and Aluko are our secret weapon. 1-1 is my prediction
I think it'll be close but maybe it's more heart over head so I'm going for a 2-1 defeat. Although I have no real ideas about either team TBH.
I think we will catch them off guard, come out swinging, and give them a good scare, before they eventually gain control in the late stages of the second and get the win. 2-1 defeat, with some positives to build on moving forward.
Someone thinks we'll get bashed.... http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2013/08/16/4189364/-?
I think the score will be 1-1 at half time. Chelsea will take the lead early in the second half before we score two more for a 3-2 win. I'd like to predict who scores but that's probably just silly - and if I get it right YOU'LL never hear the end of it!
Tony Gale on ssn just put us down for a 3-0 loss saying Chelsea will be far to strong for Hull city. I am going for 1-1
2-1 to Chelsea, much in the same vein as last time. Or, the classic 'big 4' method of winning games. We'll be at 0-0 for 89 minutes, then fate will suddenly remember that big teams HAVE to win, so by some stupid way, Chelsea score in the dying seconds, the pundits go mental that they called it and the Chelsea fans hurl abuse at us, claiming that we aren't good enough to be in the league and that we're not good enough. Something like that.
I think that we will win 2.0. Why? Well why the **** should we go into a match as supporters thinking that we will lose. No one, including Steve Bruce has any idea how we will fair as a team and Chelsea will be concerned that they face opponents who they actually know nothing about. The component parts of our squad my not be as strong as Chelsea's, but how the players bond in our squad is totally unknown and unpredictable. Last season the pundits had us down as possible relegation fodder and even in the dying days they dismissed us as automatic promotion candidates. So lets no get too dismissive of our chances. Remember our first PL game against Arsenal.
I'd never bet against City, but I honestly don't see us beating Chelsea. For all the great signings we've made, Chelsea are still light years ahead of us and you need to be more than mates off the pitch to win games. Don't get me wrong, I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. They had us down for relegation fodder and we almost went down that season. We then went down the season after. We almost blew promotion last season after picking up 1 point from 3 games against really, really poor teams. The fact that we proved the pundits wrong is great, but went up because Watford folded that little bit more than we did. It's not about being dismissive, I'm just a realist and I can't, at present, see us beating Chelsea. It's not going to ruin the season and anything gained will be a bonus.
Tony Gale - Tony Cottee - Paul Walsh - Paul Merson are the southern mafia who really dont see out of London or the big clubs. I hope that the Chelsea players share the same thoughts as the media and fans. We are more than capable of giving Chelsea a slapped bottom. I go for a draw. Score dont matter.
