Milner does create a lot of chances for City ... but that was from a wide position. Can he create from a central position? Remains to be seen.

Henderson and Milner are very hard workers who will provide a lot of battle in the middle. But they lack intelligence in that they don't know how to control a game and dictate a tempo, or understand positioning and spatial awareness.

Look at the goal we conceded today - no midfielder was close to that player and the defence were exposed again.

If we mould Can in the holding role, with Hendo and Coutinho as the CM's, then that would be better IMO. Because it would be more balanced:

Can building from the back and protecting the defence (he's not ideal but he can learn that role if taught).

Henderson brings the energy.

Coutinho is the link between mid and attack.

Football like most profession theory is difference from practice, in practice we learn things we do not know in theory.
It is for us to keep our mistakes to minimum in practice otherwise it can be very costly.
Winning the league is having more points than others. Have you heard about a title winner with minus goal difference??.
Liverpool failed to win the league in 2013/2014 because we conceded too many simple goals, we also failed during the time of Rafa Benitez because we drew too many matches . This year Brendan Rodgers and team need to learn how to balance theory with practice. Something in theory may not be applicable in practice. Like quick thinking you can not learn that in theory.<ok>

Too soon to say Gomez could well be first choice LB? Absolute steal.

How did Origi play today?

Much to soon <laugh>

he he apparently had a decent game but he's a CB doings a job at RB and now being tested at LB to see how he gets on.

Would be be nice if he could be versatile like Azpilacueta for Chelsea and solve the cover/challenge for Moreno.

Just watched the highlights. Didn't quite realise how nice of a touch Danny Ings has, he linked up several times really well, created a few chances and made a few smart runs.

Yeah but we should have still spent £25m on someone exactly the same but older, Spanish, and with a name ending in "o"

Spending money on another striker who offers something different is madness, how can the opposition negate us like that?
