With Premier League safety all but secure, I decided to dig out Phil McNulty's blog with his reseason predictions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2011/08/my_premier_league_201112_predi.html He has us as 17th. If you scroll through the widely inaccurate banter by supporters of the 'big teams' you will come to #395 "Norwich will finish in the top 10, and maybe even in a European qualifying position." Which received this retort from LiverpoolPaul85 "i think with predictions like that eeore is a good name for you!" Yes it is LiverpoolPaul85.... yes it is....
Liverpool fans were optimistic at the start of the season were they not. Very good prediction on your part. I had us down as just avoiding the drop. To say the least I am pleasantly surprised and elated at this seasons performance
Did he have QPr to win it? most people did, and Swansea rock bottom. Shows what these people actually know.
There's a way to go yet. In truth I thought we'd score more late goals than we have. But you mustn't grumble....
In fairness to the pundits, even knowing Lambert's habit of exceeding my exceeding my expectations emphatically, I wouldn't of had us anywhere near 10th!
Villa 8th, maybe in an alternative universe? Bolton 12th, "i expect to threaten the top 10"... Liverpool, 4th, what you actually mean is "this is the position if the expensive signings actually perform on a regular basis" Newcastle, 15th, "their height of expectation this season should be survival"...has any man apart from Lawrenson EVER got it so wrong, no Phil you numpty they are at the verge of Champions League Norwich, 17th, think its fair to say we surprised the pundits majorly this season... Wolves, 14th, "This may just be the season when Wolves and their supporters don't spend the final few weeks in a cold sweat"...were you dreaming when you came up with this, the cold sweat is a true reality! --- All in all, 6 shocking predictions, but the rest are reasonably accurate!
good on you mate wish I had kept the record of the thread on 12 Yards where I predicted Holty would score 15 this year, I even got abuse from Norwich fans for being unrealistic
I said exactly the same thing to a Leeds fan at the gym.To be fair to him he has been gracious enough to acknowledge he was wrong.
Phil McNulty is a complete Bellend! "You can't look beyond West Ham and Leicester for automatic promotion" Lazy research basing his amazing prediction on the two teams who have spent the most money!
