Llagostera, or Unio Esportiva Llagostera to give their full name, are a Catalan football club. They were formed in 1947 and have enjoyed a rapid rise, with five promotions since 2005. They currently play in the third tier of the Spanish pyramid, which is then split into four groups. You could probably say that applying it to the English system, it's like splitting League One into regions. They compete in a section with the likes of the Espanyol B/C/D teams. They currently play in Segunda División B – Group 3. Last season they finished 10th out of 21 teams, racking up 50 points from 40 games. This was a decline on their 5th placed finish the season before, which earned them qualification into the Copa del Rey. This is the highest level they have played at, and they are enjoying their third ever season at this level. Interesting Fact: Some players are unavailable at times due to also representing the club's hockey team! Where do they play? Llagostera's home is the Estadi Municipal based in Llagostera, within Girona. It has been the club's home since February 1948 and has a capacity of 1,400. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image What are club colours? I thought it was interesting, thanks. Let's hope there is no hockey match planned for tomorrow night.
Who are we likely to turn out? Youth/fringe players and let the new guys have a run? How are these guys likely to compare to a L1 side?
Forgot to add, we are not playing at Llagostera's home. Due it to it being 3G, at Saints' request, we are playing at Palafrugell. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
I thought 3g was something to do with either cinemas or mobile phones or something. I don't know. I'm going to bed.
3G is ok for the likes of Fat Dads like me to do now and then, but for a top pro, is consider it an injury risk. Probably why we asked for it to be moved to te other venue.
Never expected the game covered (as I suspect neither did you), but I have noticed over past couple of years that our preseason results are rarely posted despite them mentioning Bournemouth, Brighton etc. Perhaps this is an area that the media team could look into....quick call to Sky perhaps. I suspect we will be far too good for this side, but there have been a few surprises already with top clubs losing in friendlies. Not necessarily important in the scheme of things as it is all about preparing players, but is important to us fans.
