Sunderland’s first team will kick off their preparations for the 2015-16 season against Darlington 1883. The Black Cats will face Darlington on Thursday 9th July in a 7.45pm kick off at Heritage Park, Bishop Auckland. It will be the second consecutive season that Sunderland have faced the Quakers in their opening game of pre-season. Darlington, managed by former Sunderland man Martin Gray, won 28 league games in 2014-15, winning promotion via the play-off final. The club will compete in the Evo-Stik Premier next season. Sunderland’s first team have pencilled in a trip to League One side Doncaster Rovers as part of their pre-season preparations this summer. The Black Cats will travel to the Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday 29th July (KO 7.45pm). Paul Dickov’s side finished 13th in the third tier in 2014-15, ending the campaign eight points shy of a play-off place. Tickets for the game will be priced at £10 adults and £5 concessions and juniors. Further announcements regarding ticket purchases and pre-season plans will be made in due course.
