Story coming out of TA that pre season friendlies to be announced soon? Not too sure about this due to the virus and risk to players being infected from local clubs who are not part of a testing regime bubble. No fans allowed So no financial benefit to clubs like Harrogate, Guisley, Taddy etc, so think Bielsa will use the Academy to have internal matches and maybe we could play the odd game against Barnsley or even Man City? What are peoples thought
With just short of three weeks till season starting i can't see the benefit but i am not bielsa. So if he does need to take a look then it must be against league teams. We must not risk a covid outbreak just so the dirty leeds brigade can laugh at us.
Will only be able to play league teams, do need some games though for sure, we lost to Cardiff because we had no warm up games IMO.
With all these new signings we keep getting promised and all these exciting players the news outlets are saying are joining we'll easily be able to have an A vs B side
Time is really running short. I was hoping to hear about a proper new first team signing by now. No way can we take on premier league without strengthening. Real shame if no Ben White but price is just stupid. I was hoping to have 4 decent signings before the start of the season - min in my view Keeper to replace Kiko,CB, DM and a decent goal scorer. Time is ticking rather loudly for my liking.
I've resigned myself to the fact Bielsa is going to remain loyal to last seasons squad and any new signing will be on the bench until they can prove themselves to him, probably 12 weeks down the line. I honestly believe even if we spent £40m on a new striker Bamford will start. There is a distinct lack or any urgency to sign a new player and it seems the only one Bielsa really wants is Ben White
Bielsa has a rigid approach and he believes his own methods will always work out. Our squad is no better than Norwich when they went up. Players are needed and fast
You can say our squad is no better than Norwich, but you could also say it is on a par with Sheffield utd.
