http://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/article/21jun13-turkish-delight-875335.aspx Great news to have got Galatasaray playing at Shrewsbury on Saturday the 13th of July. Also we have Bolton Wanderers on Saturday 20th and Birmingham City on Tuesday 23rd. Prices can be found here: http://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/article/21jun13-pre-season-prices-confirmed-876078.aspx A tad expensive and rumour is Notts County are charging less for their Galatasaray game.
I cannot believe the over-reaction to Galatasary appearing here(See yesterday's Sloppy Star). A pre season friendly not the European Champions League. We see enough of these teams on TV these days to make it nothing like out of the ordinary. Notts County are charging the same for Adults but our concession prices are cheaper. A first for Shrewsbury!!!!
An interesting move for the club and surely we cannot miss the chance to possibly see players like Drogba and Schneider grace the Meadow - pre-season friendly or not.
I believe that happens with any pre-season friendly, it will just be more for a big, foreign side like Galatasary. I won't be able to go, so I'm a little bit annoyed, but life goes on. Lots of non-Shrewsbury fans from the area are going to go, there was a group of 6/7 lads at college the other day who like football but don't support Town talking about getting their tickets quickly. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was a very hefty attendance, maybe around the 8/9 thousand mark.
That would be good for the possibility of gaining some extra visitors during the season if they come to watch galatasaray.
we now have a squad up and running to face hanwood, wrockwardine and clun, when will we have a squad to face mk dons.?
i think its brilliant we are playing Galatasary, gets things buzzing a bit people going to the match who might not necessarily go as Lennys says, and who knows the may return to watch a league game, and its good for a stadium of our size to host such a biggish club, so well done the Town
