At present Welling and Dartford have been announced, presumably first team games. Both games will no doubt be well attended, and looseners for more testing games. For an away game attendee I always see pre-season as a good opportunity to go somewhere different, be it with the first team or the development squad. Hopefully somewhere more attractive will be announced.
Before Sandgaard we always played Welling first and Welling kept the takings. Let's just see if we revert to being good neighbours. We'll have to watch out for their striker, a certain young Lisbie, who scored twice for them in a midweek game.
If we have a new owner who’s shown a bit of intent to improve the team or if regardless of that, all proceeds are going to the other clubs, then these may well be my first games back. I do hope so.
Wasn’t sure whether to put this here or the Darren Pratley thread. https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/charlton-athletic-set-for-july-14-friendly-against-leyton-orient/
Good that the club are advertising games abroad again, that stopped once the Belgians took over and stopped supporters allowing themselves a nice few days away. I have been on a few trips and fans were always well behaved.
Sadly, though only one league above us on paper, Millwall are on another planet as a team. Putting aside traditional rivalry, they show what can be done in the Championship with limited resources. The only way we won't get a hiding in that friendly is if they don't take it seriously. They could play 11 reserves and I doubt we'd get a result
I’m not sure we can even field a team at the moment Lardy - they are light years ahead of us as it stands
