Boo! I was hoping for a return of the traditional (well, two years running until last year's Europa summer) away fixture at Bournemouth.

Is it a coincidence that Fulham and Everton, both notorious slow starters in the premiership, are the only clubs yet to announce details of their main pre-season games ??

Real Betis, the second team of Seville, are worth playing. Did okay in their first season back in La Liga and were even up toward the top of the table for a while. The striker Castro is their best player. I watched them play live last year when i was in Seville and they were okay - played about as well as Norwich did against us but lost on the day. Nice ground in the Benito Villamarin which, with a capacity of about 53,000, is bigger than Seville's Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium (catchy name). Sorry about this - Spanish football is a bit of a thing of mine. In fact, I saw more matches in Spain last year than I managed to see at Craven Cottage.

Oddly they have twice won the Zamora Trophy, which is a goalkeeping award for the keeper with the lowest goals to games ratio over the season.

I agree with Silkship, especially LA, where there's a sizable (for us) fan contingent. A swing up Portland/Seattle way (2-3 plane hours) would also find a lot of general football fans.

Shouldn't the Zamora Trophy be for the striker with the lowest goals to games ratio over the season? Sorry, a cheap shot against a player I still have great affection for, but it was too good to resist.

Fulhaman, if you've got a thing for Spanish football have you read Phil Ball's book 'Morbo: The Story of Spanish Football'? I've just bought it and I'm really looking forward to reading it. If you have, let me know what you think. If you haven't, I'll report back and let you know what I think!

Capt. I most certainly have read it. It is excellent and you will thoroughly enjoy it. I follow Sevilla and found it most interesting on them.

I can also recommed both Barca and La Roja (which is only in hardback at the moment). Sid Lowe, who to my mind is the best writer on Spanish football, also has a book coming out soon apparently and I am sure that will be an excellent read.

The Fultime mag arrived in the post this morning. That's me set for the day - blow Sainsbury's !

Had a quick skim though and noticed in it that Jol says we will be playing 3 games in China. No details however who the other 2 will be.

Full marks Ireland. Laursen was a decent Danish (?) centre back for Villa before injury cut his career short. Shame.

Curious that the Premier fixtures are out tomorrow and we still haven't heard anything official about the main squad's pre-season games. We were tied in with a game against Roma in the States and then Real Betis in China but both are definitely not happening. By now most decent opposition will have made arrangements, so what is going on? Is there some behind the scenes sponsorship deal involved ?

On the 'minnow' front we've turned down a game against Barnsley because we "don't want to play outside of London" -
