So rumours about that our beloved Penfold is holding a "transfer summit" meeting of the "board" today!!! The mere thought of it makes me smile, so I'll thank the balding piece of sh!t for that much. What, exactly, are they meeting for? How have 17 other clubs managed to already have these meetings and make their moves? Why are we so fcking special?!

    http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport...-holds-transfer-summit-at-newcastle-1-7335924

Also would appear that the players are meeting the new players for the first time. Oh, right......so it would appear the players are meeting. They will also be introduced to the new backroom team. Or "Steve" as he likes to be called.

Sorry for starting a new thread on it, but it's my right as a Newcastle fan to be as negative as humanly possible.

We havent even got enough for a six a side kickabout in training. Also they are short of one goalpost now that Ferreyra's loan period has finished.

I have it on good authority that Penfold has already signed the following:

Dangermouse (Brazilian striker only uses his nickname - dangerous in the box)
Colonel K (Commanding centre back from the US of A - possible captain)
Baron Silas Greenback (aggressive, underhand Uruguayan centre back)
Stiletto Mafiosa (Italian left back - played a number of years with Greenback in Italy who has Italian heritage. Just as dirty and listens to the Baron intently.)
Leatherhead (another Brazilian striker known for his goalscoring heading ability up top)
Heinrich Von Squawkencluck (German box to box midfielder, great communicator - is a professor in midfield dynamism)
Isambard Sinclair (part french, part american, part english wonderkid plucked from obscurity in London street football, very intelligent winger, can bridge the gap between midfield and attack.

These names are wasted if you are not of a certain age of course.

So does that mean (based on the laws of particle physics) that if ACS and Rolando ran in opposite directions round the Large Hadron Collider when they crashed into each other on the other side they would cancel each other out and all we would be left with would be a lot of energy?

Such a boring thread and a repeat of everyone of your last 100 posts. We get it, patience isn't one of the characteristics that you have.

Chances are we won't have a signing by tomorrow either so just bump this one when the time comes rather than create a new one.

One Tiote is enough that's all. Yes you're sceptical that we'll sign players but criticising us for scouting Mings 15 times and not bidding despite us already having two young left backs on the books is just OTT. It's being negative just for the sake of it.

You don't criticise a club for losing a game before it's kicked off so why do the same about the club in the transfer window? All I know is that a 90th minute winner is better than going 1-0 up in the first 10 mins and holding on to a scabby 1-0. Let's give it time and see where we are at the end of the window.

<yikes> If we wait that long we'll be signing up to a multitude of problems. We need to show intent and get a good feeling about the place. Otherwise we'll never get the masses on board, which is hugely important.

I know what you're saying, but by the same logic why are we even scouting Mings an alleged 15 times when we had (at the time) THREE young left backs on the books?! I simply struggle to make any sense of the way the club is being run - as a result am incredibly frustrated and find this forum the only opportunity to vent those frustrations for discussion.

We've all been here before with "wait and see", but honestly whether it's a lack of patience or understanding I can't sit and wait for the 1st September before blowing my top at Charnley, et al. Only two other clubs have made no transfer moves - the equally poorly run Sunderland and the Champions, Chelsea, who barely need to buy a single player given how many decent ones they have on loan elsewhere.

We said "the transfer window hasn't opened yet", now it's "our main targets haven't gone anywhere" - wasn't Ayew a target? Shaqiri? Mings? Targets are moving. What next? Is the line making a re-appearance.

Anyway, you are right, it is repetitive and boring, simply reflecting the lack of real news from the football club. The over-riding angle here is that nothing has changed at all. The communication is still dreadful to non-existent, the ambition appears absent and nobody knows why.

To be fair I think Mings can play either centre back or left back.

I still think we are obviously behind, anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. Unless of course we have deals in the bag but just don't want to announce them yet? I struggle to see why that would be mind. However there is still time. I think if you to the 15th and you've done nowt or very little and have a squad like ours, then really you'd have to question if anything has changed.

At present I'm happy to sit and wait.

Not on what I've seen. Looks quite a bit better. A lot quicker, taller and athletic. Looks better with the ball, techincally and in terms of passing. Much better on the overlap. Ever bit the modern defender.

I don't see many clubs clamouring to sign Paul Dummett to be fair. I don't think Dummett is that bad (certainly not as bad as Haidara), but I'd just question if he is good enough to be first XI. Mings has had many admirers by all accounts. I'm sure he'll get better and better under a top coach like Howes.
