It's a definite "yes" from me despite two welcome wins. NOTHING. HAS. CHANGED. The Club has still got its backside hanging out of its trousers. We need to maintain the hostility and momentum IMO, because two quick defeats and we will all be wondering why we didn't. Thoughts ?
...............and it's a yes from me. The whole thing ran out of steam before when we had 5 straight wins, but the problems obviously remain. The fact that we are one of several Belgian satellites doesn't change with a couple of wins. Mind you, a change of CEO would go a long way with me.
You two guys are absolutely right, but two fine wins have holed your boat below water. There will be no great enthusiasm for protesting until and unless the next crisis comes along.
i fear that the "casuals" have been placated. I also think KM will have a trick up her sleeve before the weeks out in the form of a signing.
Bitter and Malicious has it right. Nothing has changed for me. Great to win but sadly KM has been dug out of jail. She's also agreed to meet the Trust, so I doubt they'll want to rock the boat. If I was going sunday, I'd protest, but a lot of fans will say Fraeye is proving his worth, so why bother. Collective amnesia.
Football fans are fickle whether we like it or not. Karel Fraeye managing this club, how the f*** people cannot see this is scandalous and that we have a pair of idiots trying to run the club is beyond me.
IF CL is anything to go by the Black & White campaign is gathering momentum. I don't agree with it because it will only result in more obfuscation from our CEO, but I'll join in if that's what the mood is. I also like the song "For the 2% stand up" The two wins may have taken a bit of pressure off our CEO, but the departure of Tony Watt has cancelled them out. Our CEO should be deeply grateful to Johnnie Jackson.
A large majority won't even know what the "2%" means. We have the most placid and easily please fans on earth, hence why it's so easy for them to get away with the nonsense they do. Probably why they picked us when they were looking for an English club to buy.
Talleyrand served, always at a high level, the mutually hostile regimes of Louis XVI, the French Revolution, Napoleon, Louis XVIII, and Louis-Philippe. When questioned about what he had done in the French Revolution, he replied "I survived". I think Jacko has a touch of the Talleyrands. Maybe he should go into politics when he hangs up his boots.
Except that Jacko is a leader who is rightly respected by fans and players alike. Politician? I don't think so!
Whatever it takes people though like most of you I fear that the majority will go back into their boxes and be good little boys and girls again
I think you have to back the Black and White campaign, though I fear it is misguided to say the least, and the 2% campaign, as some of the fanbase are probably now dreaming of promotion after back to back wins, and will not see any reason to complain. However, I hope I am wrong, and intelligence asserts itself. It's not even Karole Fraeye himself, but the selection process that brought him in. The important thing is to keep the pressure on KM. She has'nt agreed to dialogue because she wants it, but to try and bank down the fires of protest. Once the protests collapse, the dialogue become as unneccesary to her as to most of us. She doesn't want it, and we want more. I've always said I accept my place in the club, that I won't be consulted and can't change anything. That multiplies with regard to RD, and anyway without a viable alternative, I don't see a way forward to him leaving. However, I'm buggered if I'm going to keep quiet and be good when some inexperienced CEO tells me 5 managers in twenty months, plus a perennial relegation scrap is somehow indicative of successfull management. It's a farce, and in most organisations, KM would have gone with one of the managers we've seen fit to throw out.
If all that Charlton fans manage to come up with on Saturday is a quote "protest after 2 mins where we all hold up sheets A4 and sing about the negative 2%" then the consequence will be that Sky will never return to the Valley. Reason? Because they cover football, not comedy at its worst. It's seems to me regarding this "Spell it Out" ( now suspiciously supported by the eternally bitter Rick Everitt) that it is 1. Laughably underpowered 2. Designed to promote individual fans agendas. I totally despair of our fan base. The Club should rename the West Stand the Werthers Original Stand.
60% of our fans can't even lift their arms up for a minute, 5% are kids and wives more interested in electrical devices and the other 35% don't have a scooby what 2% means. I hope for KM's sake that she starts to take heed of the black and white campaign, as they are threatening to release balloons! FFS
What is it about the majority of Charlton fans (nobody on here) that makes them toadying, craven, bed wedding arse lickers? A nerdy army of Private Pikes, more interested in the West Stand lifts and Bovril supplies in the museum. FFS That Temple of on -line bed wetting, hand wringing incontinence Charlton Life couldn't bring itself to support the real protest, as some of CAST's fraudulent fivers might not have been siphoned their way in the future. But hey....intimidate an absentee multi millionaire by releasing a few balloons on the pitch ....and the dreaded words you never want to hear from Elton John spring to mind...."I am right behind you"
The last protest developed a mind of its own which reflected the anger of most fans, and I hope this happens again. It will be a great pity if CASTrust tries to take control with its spell-it-out campaign. If they are handing out cards and balloons to all and sundry this may well happen, so they will be asking "are you for us or against us" in effect. Now that Rick is on board we may well see the dreaded megaphone, and he is a very good public speaker. The trouble I have is that our CEO would love to see us divided, she urged the fans to turn against the 2%, and so I feel in between the devil and the angels, as Sepp Blatter would say.
But the Club could very easily solve the "Rick problem" ...by offering him his old job back. The King of Valley Express returns
