... and a return to football after the 'back to the future' game against Stoke.
It was just like the ghost of Tony Pulis prowling the touchline with punts from the keeper, endless time-wasting and foul throws the referee somehow missed every fkn time.
Anyway, Leicester ... how did they come down and are they the best team ever to be relegated.
Filbert Street was always a dodgy place to go, but this new ground is a bit calmer. We always seemed to have trouble down there but they never came near Roker Park ... cowards.
I've a few stories about Filbert Street but I'll post one from when we won.
Came out after a night match, few scuffles but their hooligans followed the lads going to the coaches. We were followed by half a dozen towards where we'd parked the car ... me, Pete and Steve, from Nottingham, who had a lovely new BMW.
We passed that big park, where they always hung around, and onto the unlit back road where we'd parked. We could see the car, at the end of the street, but it felt far far away. These lads were right behind us and starting to make comments. What to do eh ... do we turn and try to back them off or make a run for it, try to jump in the car and get away before they jump us.
We got closer and running out of options but we were close friends and knew we'd give it a good go if it kicked off. As we got to within a few cars away we all clicked onto the solution, laughed and reached into a skip on the roadside just past Steve's shiny new car.
The builders must've been Sunderland lads because there were three pieces of 2x2 cut into 4' pieces ... they may as well've cut hand grips into them
We turned, weapons in hand, ran at them and shouted 'Come on you bastards!'
They ran so fast none of us managed to give them a crack ...
... I have few regrets in life but that's up there
