in the middle of no where
Isn't this the time to negotiate with players regarding pre-contracts? Rangers expressed an interest in signing Conway during the January transfer window so why not swoop now and get the guy for free. Weiss will most probably move back to Man City, Davis is playing in the middle, Diouf (if he stays next season) can play in midfield but he's not a winger. In fact, Rangers realistically wont be able to afford Weiss. Rangers couldn't afford Commons. Rangers probably couldn't even buy Andy Driver. Maybe a takeover will happen but by the same token it also may not. So with this in mind doesn't a move to sign Conway on a pre-contract seem prudent.

McCoist said himself that the wage bill will be downsized by £1m per year starting next season so we can expect an exodus of players (especially high earners). Conway would sign for free on wages that Rangers can afford plus he can play on both wings and do a job in the SPL. I think it's a move that makes sense all round and I can't see why Rangers don't pursue this.
