Both start on the bench for their new teams today.

Wonder if they will regret their moves?

Watched a bit of the Inverness Rangers game earlier. Owain Tudur Jones is useless.

Marcos Painter is starting for Brighton today, he's had a pretty good time since he has left.

Andy Robinson starting for Tranmere - I'll say no more.

Any other old players playing today?

Also, anybody watching the rugby? Wales getting destroyed, but an incredible defensive display keeps it at 6-6

Painter was regarded as one of Brighton's stand out performers last year from what I gathered online. Good luck to the guy!

I hope Pratters and De Vries manage to break into their respective sides, regardless of how they left I want them to have a crack at the Premiership. What odds both of them will start when they play us?

Marcos Painter is the only player I'd have back out of that lot.

Oh, and Wales 19-9 England full time if anyone's interested.

As scores currently stand, Bolton and Wolves are No.1 & No. 2 in Premiership. LOL. Well done Pratley and DeVries.

It's human nature to find out how players who have 'jumped ship' have fared - nothing wrong in that Dilli.

I expect Pratley will get plenty of appearances off the bench and deVries will have to be content with playing in the Carling Cup like Makalambay did. Their choice.

One 'old boy' I wish we had been a bit more commited to getting is 'Marvelous Marvin' Emnes. Not a bad start so far (5 goals in 3 games) and would have given us good options up front.

It's just a bit of interesting trivia. No offence, but it's good to know what's going on elsewhere, and interesting for most people. I don't see how it's possible to support a football team if you completely ignore other players and teams. I think most people who support teams are interested in football in general and so want to know what's happening with other teams and players.

But I know you must be interested, even though you deny it, because you actually opened the thread and commented on it. If you had no interest in DeVries and Pratley, then why would you even bother to make the effort to read and comment? Just saying.

Always worth having a look to see other peoples points of view if that's ok.
Also you then get an overview of certain posters who to seem to pick holes in everything you say and the ones who don't.

ddv made his choice. The move was nothing to do with football it was all down to money. he has made his choice i hope for one that he rots in wolves reserves.

Sorry to contradict you, but it had everything to do with football , money is an integral part of any job including football , I don't suppose you would turn down a job that increases your wages by say 30%-40% , would you?

And hoping the guy rots is a distinct lack of class, would you wish that on a work colleague that gets a new job? And by the way football is a job, the people playing it will look after their own self interests first, I would bet you do as well?

De Vries was an excellent servant for the Swans, just as Pratley was. We should be grateful for that service and wish them all the best - except when they line up against us. These moves always seem to work out well for us in the end anyway. We've now got the Dutch number 2. A keeper that is streets ahead of Dorus in ability and with less obvious flaws. Had Dorus agreed to a deal we wouldn't have gone looking for Vorm. [Btw, in my opinion he will prove to be our best signing this season and will be instrumental in keeping us up. Just my view.]

Wishing them ill is just childish. Football is a business and players have to make the right decisions for them. I actually think De Vries was wrong in making the move in a footballing sense but I respect his decision.

Loyalty is a luxury reserved for the fans by and large.

Jager i have to disagree. It is all about money and nothing to do with a footballing desicion. Not every person will move because they have been offered more money. Job satisfaction comes in to it as well. He moved to a team where he will not play any football. he will sit on the bench and have to wait for injuries to get a game. If that is what he calls job satisfaction and moving for footballing reasons then i am wrong.

Just thought that footballers wanted to actually play the game and not be high paid spectators. Which is what he is. As for the lack of class. I wish the man no ill. But i hope he does rot in the reserves.

I just wonder how many people on here who are preaching about wishing ill as being wrong, were doing exactly the same thing when a certain mr martinez left.

I really dont care about him but i can not agree that this man went because it was a footballing desicion. Read what a certain mr rodgers says. In that he could have earned twice te money as a coach at man city. But chose to be at Swansea because he wanted to be a number 1, not just someone in the background. Well that is just the total opposite of what a certain Mr DV has done.

Its a job you get paid for doing it, as I said a person will generally look after their own self interests , dorus decided that wolves has more chance of staying up than we do, which I agree, so he took a calculated gamble in going to them, so he will be a premier league player longer.

And don't compare Brendan with a move to Man City, every person is different their needs and aspirations are not the same, the job was not even the same one, dorus and Darren went for their own reasons, wishing that they rot there because they went is as I said a lack of class!

And as I mentioned above, has a work colleague ever left your work place for a position elsewhere ? Did you wish he/she rots there because they left ? Get some perspective on this, football is a job for a lot of players nothing more!

but they are not my collegues. they are football players and they both play for teams that i have no affiliation to. so as far as i am concerned i dont care for them any more. if a collegue left the chances are they would be a friend of yours so the comparison is not the same. and you say dont compare brendan and dvd yet you use the arguement about a collegue leaving. so that a little bit of a contradiction.
As i said i wish them no ill. i just hope they dont succeed at the new club. so please dont go on about class. i would hazard a gues and forgive me if i am wrong that you along with thousands of supporters hoped Martinez failed. that is no different.
anyway. i think we will have to agree to disagree on this one as we will end up going back and for constantly.
