I guess we are all queened out by now, well TBH some seem to have been queened out before it stared. We have had the little red ball game, the one with the funny shaped ball but we are now only one day away from the game with the proper size and shape ball and the Euro s. OK, I accept it's not proper football, lot's of Johnny foreigners whose names we cant pronounce or spell, mind I still struggle with that Wes Broon of ours, but it is nearer football than we have had. I'm sure that those of you unlucky enough to have a live in person of the female kind, not proper women like Jerry and Scatty who follow the proper game, more the girly type who are prone to speak in a loud voice in ones ear and let their displeasure known, well I'm sure you have a few hard weeks ahead. Many of that group will come out with the face saving lies, the Euro's are not my thing, I would rather sit outside a ladies shoe or dress shop at the metro,I have waited all year for the chance to decorate the spare bedroom, I love going to the in laws for a barbecue. Well those of us unfortunate to be missing out on those delights, we have served our time, done our duty and will now sit back with a cool beer, a well stored fart and say come on, whoever you are in that strange coloured strip.
Nice article Syd, you describe my life well, not expecting to see much of the Euros but plenty of jobs to do! Who do you fancy winning it? I put a ten spot on France
TBH I'm struggling to get excited about it and have no idea who is doing what, I just sort of switch on and watch. Keep this to yourself but there are days when sitting outside that shoe shop would be quite nice.
Reckon you'll be ok once the games start mate. In USA 94, when England weren't there, I watched every game and it was amazing not having the inevitable heartbreak of watching England. Don't care as much about them now and if I had the time would love to watch players I know nowt about impartially again. Maybe ignore England and try to enjoy it as a football spectacle is what I'm trying to say... Playing golf on Saturday then watching Germany Portugal with the boys, know nowt about either now but reckon they'll have some good young uns who have never heard of. My reward for being an obedient husband all week
Well I will be trying to watch every single game, like i usually do with international tournaments. Just hope teams are more expansive and go for the win, not sit back and hope to snatch a winner.
Not as excited as I used to be about Euros or The World Cup for that matter but, will be sat down at 5 bell on Monday waiting like most of the rest of the country.
