Just read the the bookies have slashed their odds on Poyet being Reading Manager to 1/10 and that he has been given permission to talk to them.

Not sure on this one? It's not as big a nice as I thought he would be after. Think he'll be good for them but hopefully not in the next 2 months!

talkSPORT running with an exclusive that Reading have already held talks with Nigel Adkins, and are now talking to Gus Poyet.

Can't see why he would leave Brighton, they'll be challenging for promotion next season just like Reading (indeed they may still be promoted this season).

If they prefer Poyet to Adkins, they need their heads examining, though I suppose it's horses for courses. I think Nigel and us were a match made in heaven...he was so excited when he arrived...stop it, stop it<wah> I shall go away now and contemplate Mauricio in his skinny jeans until I feel better:tongue:

Brighton seem to have more ambition than Reading, Poyet better off staying put, and Big Nige and his healing hands are ready for a bigger club I would have thought. Suspect some Pounds Sterling may enter the mix though.

As of now (17:05), Poyet is 5/4, Adkins 6/4

How about Poyet going to Reading and Nigel going to Brighton..? I'd be happier with that. Poyet would go down with Reading and Nigel would get Brighton promoted... eventually. Mind you, just seen a snag there. Something about keeping up. :)

I did say at the start of Fran's thread that Brighton would be a good place for Nigel, and I still believe that. Similar to Saints really:good stadium, good squad, good fanbase and good facilities. The club is well set for a promotion push.

Size wise very similar clubs, Brighton getting 28000 in thier shiney new stadium which is fantastic, the only reason for Poyet to leave is for a pay rise surely as both teams have the potential of flirting with the premiership

Yes, and Poyet's never going to do it with his sole tactic of kicking the opponents until they fall down.

I agree and I'm sure they could get over their little misunderstanding.
