Had to post above. Carling are no official pouring rights partner at SMS (love the term). Not a beer person so don't know what you all think of that. Apparently going to make a special Saints beer with some money going to Saints Foundation. It had better be good or I'm sure you guys will soon let them know!
Carling, Grolsch, Magners and an ale from these guys next season. Don't mind that, but I'd prefer to keep the Carlsberg. It's very good that they're reaching all corners of the drinkers market though, trying to cater for everybody.
I don't buy the beer inside anyway. I usually just drink seven pints of Tennent's and half a bottle of vodka before I go in. It's great, I get in absolutely ****ered, kick off with someone looking shifty and get ejected before half-time. Good honest fun.
If by real beer you mean ale (as most people who use "real beer" do) then these guys who are our "pouring partner" are making us an official Saints ale... wonder how that'll taste.
I do mean Ale Dan, so will be interested to taste a Saints one. Hope it's not a re-label of a poncy one like Boddies.
"The Ale will be exclusively available through Molson Coors throughout Southampton and 10p per pint sold will be donated, by licensees opting to stock the product, to the Saints Foundation. Saints Ale will also be on sale at St Mary's and in bottles from the official Saints stores, allowing supporters to raise their glasses to this new innovative partnership." Doesn't seem like a re-label, but then who can tell. A list of the beers Molson Coors works with is here.
Dan, I decided to actually read the article on the OS and saw the info. Can't see them offering tasters of Saints Ale in the shop, so I hope it's good when I take a crate home!
