So the club have started selling tickets for POTY, so just curious where your votes are going? I'm thinking 1) JBG 2) Hendo 3) Cousins. However I think Watt will sneak in and Cousins will win it. 1) Cousins, 2) Watt, 3) JBG
Cousins for me. JBG has provided more moments of quality but Cousins has been so influential since he moved in to the middle, and I like the way his head never dropped at all when being played out of position.Mind you, if Watt scores a hat-trick against Millwall things might change......
I think Cousins sacrifice has been admirable, but JBG has surely had more influence on results and performances?
Cousins. TBH, Bikey, Solly and Vetokele were also in the running until the New Year. JBG goes missing too often when the going is rough and Watt has only been here five minutes. The above-mentioned have had to battle all season against our crackpot management. Should have been Wilson or Cousins last year. Poyet only played half a season and left without us getting a worthwhile fee. Some Player of the Year. Give it to one of our own who gives his all for the club. Watts and JBG could be out of here come June. If Watt stays, then he will have a great chance to win it next season.
Cousins for me Solly has been underated most of the season and should have been in with a chancebut for the diabolical clearance, Vetokele and Watt have put ingreat shifts but Cousins has not allowed being played out of position or the strange line ups he has played with to distract him and has done a sterling job this year. Joe Gomez is clearly young player of the year.
I will be voting for Cousins. What he lacks in quality, he has made up for with effort. I fear that Watts' rather phoney "man of the people" act may see him win it.
From here and social media, Cousins looks to be a lock now. Watt will appear at 2 or 3, and sadly my first choice, JBG looks to be behind Henderson. I'm not even certain one of his rockets will beat Watt's solo effort for goal of the season. Can we have an Icelandic POTY category, exclusive to Charlton players?
JBG for me. For a long part of the middle of the season.. extremely reliant on him as our only creative threat. Scored some great goals too.
I'll be voting Henderson. I can't ignore the fact that in his 3 months out we didn't win a game, but our record with him has us in the play-offs. Cousins 2nd, oh-so-close between Watt and Lepoint for 3rd... think it will have to be Tony.
