Its been discussed a lot and we seem to all share a common concensus, but it would be interesting to all place a vote, and see how we feel when looking at this thread again come the end of the season votes away!
I've elected Wiggins, but it was very tough between him, Morro, Kermo and Solly. I gave Wiggins the advantage over Solly as he has all those assists.
Any one of the back four or Kermit for me... I went Kermit because I think he'd be the most difficult to cover if he was out.
solly for me too. one of our own, might be going to the olmpics, gets targeted every game and still comes out on top. if he was to score this year, can you imagine the celebration?
Solly for me. He is everything I want to see in a Charlton player: composure, dedication, graft, aggression and passion. It is no coincidence that his first time on the subs' bench was our first league defeat of the season. It is plain to see that he inspires his team-mates, and the crowd continually applaud him for his gritty determination. Hollands, Morrison, Wiggins and The Kerminator run him close, though! It is a thrill to have so many players vying for POTY. COYR!
Can't believe everybody is leaving Jacko out of their lists look at how we missed him when he was out injured? Yes, we would miss Chris if he were out injured but that is mostly because we do not have another right back at the club (MHO is that I think Hughes is now too slow for right back)
I'm torn between Wiggins and Solly, I think Wiggins is just as consistant but doesnt get noticed as much due to Solly's home grown status. I did however elect to go for solly - probably due to his home grown status! Next two for me would be Jacko and Morro, then Kermit and Hollands. Think its time Wiggins and Hollands had a song!
This will make me sound like a pranny, but apart from JJ's goals and graft (I can't believe I am saying this!), I find him to be quite anonymous at times. For that reason, he does not make my top 5. But I love him all the same. There is not a better right-back in League One than Chris Solly. He is immense and reads the game superbly. We have a real gem there and he can only get better.
I see what you mean, Ponders - Jacko will often go for long stretches of a game without seeing the ball. What makes him so good is that when he does have the ball, he almost always makes very good use of it. And of course his set pieces are a level above.
Could have been any one of the back 4 but I went for Solly because it's taken him so long to get his chance(thanks Parky). Not Jackson, AHLL, because I'm looking at performances over 90 minutes rather than flashes of genius!
Been a while since I posted but had to get involved on this thread. I went with Morrison. Although Solly is more that deserved of the votes I do not think we would have won or had as many clean sheets if we did not have this beast in the middle of defence. Ever present at the back and always willing to get his head stuck in. Great player and Great Centre Back. COYR!
Had to go for solly too, IMO he has done something nobody else in the team has, proven all his critics wrong. at the start of the season many fans just didn't rate him, while every other player was given the benefit of being a new signing, and whilst every other player has been awesome solly just edges it for that reason
