Potential team

    Come 1st September we could have a 1st team of (ignoring injuries):

    ------------------------------Krul--------------------
    Simpson/Raylor------Saylor----------Colo--------Santon
    Obertan/Marveaux-------Tiote-------Cabaye--------Gutierrez
    ----------------------------Ben Arfa--------------------
    ---------------------Nolan Roux/Maiga-------------------

    Now I think that is a great blend of experince and potential and could grow into a very good team that could challenge for 5th/6th eventually, certainly somthing to be very excited about especially when we have further potential in players such as Vuckic, Abeid, Ferguson and Sameobi, etc.



    * All of this is discounting any inevitable destructive idiocy from Ashley.

    Finally could see Jonas attacking more and some link up between him and Santon :D

    I don't want to sound all doom and gloom but with what happened in January I will be relieved if transfers are coming in and not out, except Perch or Smith. Still don't trust Ashley enough yet.

    If I'm honest, as much as I'd like to see another striker, I think Best and Ben Arfa could link up amazingly well! His hold up play is awesome and the way he can pluck balls out of the air to land at his feet is massively impressive, his shooting consistency isn't amazing but his goals to games ratio for us is decent! More importantly, with Cabaye and Tiote spraying passed forward from deep, Obertan and Gutierrez bursting into the corners and Best laying off balls to the onrushing Ben Arfa, we have far more attacking options than many would give us credit for. PLUS with Santaon and Simpson (if he rediscovers some form) bombing on from full back to swing balls into the box we can afford to be patient as well as counter attacking!

    But, im very excited to see Santon and Jonas linking up. This has been the most exciting signing for a long time for me. Probably since Emre tbh.

    Bench: Elliot/Harper, Raylor, Willo, Abeid, Vuckic, Marveaux, Ba.

    Assuming we don't get anyone else in, apart from Simmo that's a really strong fully fit 11 and bench. Could things finally be looking good for us?

    To be honest guys, Simpson is better than half the ****e in this division have at RB, and he looks to have a good partnership with Obertan. Even with him it's a strong side.

    Im inclined to agree. Yes, the side looks stronger without him. But I'd rather have him than Bardsley.

    Would have Best in there as a starter even if we were to get Nolan Roux or Maiga

    It will be really interesting to see a left-side with two players right footed, could cause all sorts of problems especially since both are pretty good with either foot

    I said it could be out team. I think we will get one of them tomorrow (hopefully Nolan Roux) and I would guess that they would be are 1st choice striker unless Best keeps up his scoring form, if he does not then I think he will be dumped for the new striker because Pardew does not seem to be completely sold on him yet.
