Ok we all know that Nige is looking to recruit 7 new players for the start of the new season and we're looking to explore the free transfer market especially. So my question to you is, apart from the obvious names been linked with us (adebola, danns, howard etc.) who would you like to see sign for us?

I think the two goalkeepers are our main priority and the main names seem the more likely to sign (eilhoff, guzan, murphy) so we'll exclude this position But what about the likes of Simon cox? Kazenga LuaLua or maybe Jlloyd Samuel? All free transfers in the summer with the only real highish wage in there being Samuels it shouldn't be too much a problem to acquire all 3 of these. Thus bringing a new left back (assuming dudgeon might play further forward), a new winger and a remotely tall big striker (that isn't 3802057 years old and can still improve quite a bit).

    Your thoughts?

Although City have, it seems, some astute management now, the future of any signings will depend on transfer fees and wages expected, so it will be generally accepted that any signings will be at the lower end of the market so we don't get in the 'Bullard' situation again. I expect any future additions to be gritty performers rather than outstanding stars, and that may even mean ...... older players to complement the younger ones now in place.

He's still youngish and is bigger then any one of our strikers. Plus di mateo apparently rated him.

    Your not wrong.

If we are to make 7 signings, we'll get 2 goalkeepers, 2 centre backs, maybe another full back, 1/2 central midfielders and a big striker. The free transfer market clearly appeals to NP, probably because most of the transfer kitty will go towards acquiring the centre halves (Hobbs, Ayala or Gerrard).

Some of the names we have been linked with are strange. Just have to see what happens in the next couple of months, I wouldn't be surprised if we were to delve into the loan market later in August to get a couple of extra young players. The gaffer has his own vision and clearly knows what he wants, even if us lot don't want the services of Dele Adebola...

    I still don't think we will be far off the following;

    2 of mannone, guzan, eilhoff
2 cb's so Hobbs, Ayala, maybe shackell or gerrard
2 centre mids, guess danns plus another
    Left winger, although unsure
    Target man, hopefully not adebola

    I think we need:

    2 keepers
    2 centre halves
    2 midfielders (cm)
    1 left winger
1 or 2 centre forwards (no some of the **** we've recently been linked with I hope) Cameron Jerome would be a great signing (big/mobile/decent age) Birmingham are now ****ed so go and get him NP. Just noted he's 6'1" and started his career at Hudds Town! So he's from Yorkshire, shouldn't be difficult to get him up to Hull.

That was Jerome Thomas, still at WBA. More evidence that Phil Brown wasnot a good judge of a player.

I doubt we can afford Jerome Thomas. He'll be on around £15,000 pw and I'm sure some bottom-mid table prem teams will want him anyway. I'd rather not go for Nile Ranger either. I don't think he's the type of player that Nige'll go for. Whenever I've seen him I didn't think he worked hard enough but that's just my opinion.
