As below... http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/story-13481915-detail/story.html A couple of new players would be useful. Particularly a striker! We may need a new CB as King may be recalled by Gillingham: http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/2011/october/5/simon_king.aspx
Am I the only one unhappy to still see Ridsdale figuring so large after we had his word as an officer & a gentleman that he was departing? By all means continue to assist behind the scenes Peter but now is the time to retreat into the shadows where you belong....................
Why would he do that if he is still the Acting Chairman notdistant? As far as I am aware he remains the appointee of the Administrator and will do so until the ink is dry as you put it elsewhere. He is being paid handsomely to carry out that role so he might as well earn some of it. I would guess his time to keep his word would be when the deal is done and he is relieved of command. Not that I believe he will of course as some people never quite know when to depart. I am guessing that Brent is nobodies fool and he will know of Ridsdale and his previous form unless he is not as switched on as we all believe. I cannot believe he will want him to stick around too long. I also guess he is aware of some of these websites and can read what the supporters think .
Notdistant, you are so wrong! It is not ' now is the time to retreat into the shadows where you belong.................... ' but ' now is the time to retreat under the stone where you belong.................... '
Purse staying at Millwall, talks broke down last night............and we could still lose King because of Gillinghams injury list.
Thank you Mouldy. There are ways of doing things and this isn't it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15183020.stm ""Certainly our eye is on trying to do it [the deal] sometime next week," Ridsdale told BBC South West." It's not "we" it's "the administrators" Peter, you are merely an employee of the club, not even a shareholder. ""If I'm here to hand over the keys to the door to James Brent when he walks in I'll see it as job well done". Again, it won't be you handing over the keys Peter, it'll be the administrators. You'll be just an entry on the payroll. A fairly large entry mind you..... "Staff and players at Home Park have gone largely unpaid this year, with Mr Brent's takeover held up by over four months as former preferred bidder Bishop International Limited failed to seal a deal....... A further £1.4million has been spent since their appointment, including £150,000 on 'office holder fees' and £66,739 on 'professional fees'. 'Consultancy fees', thought to have been paid to three people, including acting club chairman Peter Ridsdale, total £50,500." As it was at Cardiff: "His [Ridsdale's] WH Sports Group Limited was before London's High Court yesterday morning. Mr Ridsdale was at the Leaders in Football conference at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground and unaware of the hearing. [Yes we believe you] WH Sports was used as a vehicle for consultancy fees charged to his former club Cardiff City. Voluntary liquidation was applied for in 2009 – but delayed because of a tax debt. That debt was recently agreed, paving the way for formal liquidation."
Hold the front page............it seems the Purse deal could be still on............some of these news agencies seem to have different song sheets.
And isn't Ridsdale's old mate Paul Hart's son the "consultant" being paid handsomely to make sure we get the best deal for any players we sell? Including a bonanza £150k for Mason and an astounding sum of £20k for Bolasie! Now let's not underestimate how much hard work Ridsdale put in, phoning HMRC and saying the bill couldn't be paid, No **** Sherlock, and coincidentally making a fortune for his old mate the administrator and another old pal as a consultant! Yup let's not knock hard working Ridsdale, the man who saved Argyle!
Hes a crook and a ****er . Any one he as has close associates are the same, Even Brenda Guilflower, he has kept his head down for a while, Risdale should follow and **** off.
And the FL have blocked any loan signings for Argyle until the deal is done and players have been paid. Talk about kick a dog when it is down. Ah well looks like a lightweight side for Saturday then but I still fancy us for a win.
Now the League seem to be ripping us off too. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15201322.stm Now is it 20 or is it 18 my dear old chap [jolly nice blazer by the way]? Because it's a sort of golden rule thing of regulation that rules should be consistently applied don't you know? Otherwise it smacks of cronyism and favouritism if a chap's not very careful. Pass the port old boy.
Have we still got King on Saturday...........I've been to busy to check ? If we havn't then we've been well stitched up today by everyone..............happy 125th birthday Argyle...........just take your kicking and stop complaining.
Well go stick your pipes up your ass FL members. A Total disgrace. Another bunch of crooks. Silly old men. or Kerb crawlers!
No wonder people lose heart when every piece of news is bad news. I have no idea about King yet but no doubt it will not be good for us. Will this run of poor fortunes never end. Roll on the end of next week even if I'm wishing my life away. Will that finally be the turning point and the gods will once again smile on Plymouth.
Well i hope so as well Sensible, as all we keep getting is knocked down. But after next weeks take over is sorted, hopefully! We will start to rise again. Its why no one likes those stuck up their own arses on the FL.
He has been a rock Kentish, one of the best loanees this season i'd say. On the FL - I understand the concern about players not being paid but if they had concerns they should have raised that at the beginning of the season when it was all over the local press and there was talk of players striking - or they could have forced Heaney to complete or jog on, not part way through a new bid. It just puts more pressure on Brent when he can only progress as the shareholders/creditors allow. Silly Beggars!
Quite right Hobo, they can't have it both ways. They blocked the BIL deal but let Argyle trundle on pending someone else coming in, no doubt knowing full well Brent still stood in the wings. That being the case, if the rule is 20 players, then it's 20 for everyone, not making it up as you go along. In any event, Argyle's situation is well known. Is it not up to the lending clubs and the players concerned whether they want to chance their arm by providing loans? Like this, the League create an identical situation to the present banking crisis. Governments can't afford to allow their banks to fail so the banks are reassured that they can be as reckless as they like and if something goes wrong, they'll be rescued by the tax payer. The League insist football debts are repaid first so there's nothing to stop one club selling a player to another club at an extortionate transfer price that can't be afforded. Remove the safety net and make clubs be responsible for their own actions like any other business I say! That will help dampen down the whole overheated pressure cooker of football finances.
So it seems the un-named foreward could be twenty year old Jordon Bowery of Chesterfield............might still be coming when the Brent deal is completed...........scored 3 goals in 62 games............so don't hold your breath to long.
Argyle down to 17 professionals now that Tom Hitchcock as returned to Blackburn. He came with a good scoring record for Blackburn reserves and looked a promising addition to our literally non-existent foreward line. Fell out of favour after 4 or 5 games and only subbed from then on............LeCointe and Daley being preferred. Scored two goals in pre-season...........but did not score in League matches, possibly affected by the situation that he found at Argyle.
