With all the deadline day signings at QPR it shows the clubs new owner, Tony Fernandes, backed up by Amit Bhatia are prepared to put their money where their mouth is in order to make the team competitive and help the team retain Premier League Status.

Which brings me on to the Beckham deal. My personal opinion on this is that it as an absolute no brainer. Yes he is 36 and his best years are behind him, but as Giggs as shown you can re-invent yourself as a player as the years take there toll and I think in our 4-2-3-1 formation Beckham would sit nicely in one of the holding midfield roles spraying the ball about and would provide us with a cutting edge at set pieces, as for his workrate we all know he is one of the fittest players in the game and he always gives 100%.

As for the commercial side of the deal that speaks for itself, the man is a global superstar and icon and he would raise the profile of the club 100 fold in areas of the world that we otherwise couldnt reach and provide us with a massive increase in our revenue stream that could provide us with the cash to take us to the next level.

    COYR's!!!

If the deal can be brokered then it would be fantastic for us.

This is a tweet from Tony Fernandes personal Twitter account........

'I think having someone like David in the club would be great. Was always in my thoughts.'

Could be tongue in cheek but he has been using his Twitter account to keep us all up to date on club affairs so maybe there are legs in this one?

We all thought Barton and Wright-Phillips were a pipe dream!?

I really don't think money is an issue when it comes to signing Beckham. He certainly doesn't need it, the only issue will be his commercial rights and how much game time he will get. He will go to whichever premiership club that will give him the most game time, which will probably be us if we decide we do want him.

Why is he being so formal, and why did he then leave Agyemang out of the 25-man squad if he likes David so much?

Twitter has become the fastest form of media and information in the world. But it can also be used for disinformation too. Amit's tweet to Tony yesterday saying we'd been linked with Beckham yesterday seemed a little strange as I'm sure he'd know that already. Was it to create attention to it so we could rubbish the claim, or was it just idle chit chat between the two? You just can't tell. But everyone can see it and put 2+2 together and = anything.

I just think that Beckham's profile and commercial benefits would suit us too much for Fernandes not to be considering a move. Just don't go reading anything into what people say on twitter as it can mislead as much as it can inform.

I've just had a chat with David. He wasn't best pleased as it is a quarter to 6 in the morning there.

He said that whilst he was truely honoured to be linked with a club like QPR it will not be happening. This is despite having long talks with Tony on the telephone over the past two weeks.

The problem seems to be that he has made a deal with Harry not to go to any other team in the capital IF he does return to the UK prior to the Olympics.

You see, I can write fairy stories too, and mine are better than those in The Sun.

Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock on Wednesday dropped the biggest hint yet that the Premier League side are chasing David Beckham.

    By Telegraph staff and agencies

    4:11PM BST 07 Sep 2011

Newly promoted Rangers, who last month saw ambitious Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes become the majority shareholder, have since consistently been linked with Beckham, who plays for LA Galaxy.

"About three weeks ago I would not have dreamed to sign Joey Barton so I will never write anything off," said Warnock, who has embellished his squad with several new players since Fernandes arrived at the London club.

"The chairman Tony Fernandes has got such (an opinion)... why accept the average when you can reach for the top?"

"That is how he is. It came out of the blue. I think anything is possible. He is a very astute businessman," Warnock said in a conference call with Malaysian media.

Fernandes, the flamboyant head of fast-growing budget airline AirAsia, said in a tweet Tuesday: "I think having someone like David Beckham in the club would be great. Was always in my thoughts. Let's see."

Midfielder Beckham, 36, has been linked with a host of English clubs.

Queens Park Rangers have won one and lost two of their opening games, but have added French fullback Armand Traore, former England defender Luke Young and Barton, who arrived on a free from Newcastle United.

"I think Tony realised that we do need to have some good players into the squad," said Warnock.

"And we went about it and managed to get nearly every player we wanted.

"It was hard work but the reward now is that we have a chance now of sustaining the position in the Premier League and taking the club forward."

The fact that these rumours are floating about only go to show how much the club have moved on since the Goons departed - could any one of us who read this on a daily basis have imagined the club being linked to Beckham three weeks ago? There are some good times ahead for all of us QPR fans, and although this Beckham deal is probably never gonna happen, the fact that journos are even talking about it is amazing!

Weren't we linked with Figo a couple of years ago and wasn't Zidanne coming in as coach?

I agree that our stock has risen massively in the last couple of weeks but I think that's more to do with who we've got in rather that who we're linked to.

SSN had Warnock on just now talking about it. He certainly seemed positive and said wait till January. That arsehole Moose on Talksport reckons Spurs want him as well. Could get interesting...
