I thought this might be useful for anyone new to the site or just unfamiliar with some of the facilities. Please add any useful tips below. Or any requests for "How to"
I'll add the first one. Posting links. A neat way of posting links is to describe the link without actually showing it. Whilst on the web page you want to link to, click the address at the top. This will select the whole web page address. Ctrl+C to copy it Type your description in your post Select your description and select the Link icon (6 from the right) Enter your url link into the box by Ctrl+V Click OK
Ron - is there any way to re-size or set the size of an image inserted in a post? Every time I do this I just get a thumbnail size image displayed. Thanks.
Just looked at the image on the picture thread Chairboy. I presume that was uploaded from your computer?
normally aj looks for a red metal object sometimes round and always red with a rectangular slit in it. and there is where aj posts. q.e.d . simple really. floreat salopia, floreat royal mail!
Thanks for that AJ. Chairboy. That will be to do with the size of the image on your computer. Looking at its properties it's only 96 pixels per inch. So if you enlarge it it will become blurred. And even saving it as a larger image, when uploading it seems to revert to its original size. I have asked for help on this via the Mods' Forum but so far the only comment has been " I can't do it either". There are some clever people on here so hopefully someone will come up with a solution.
Here's a work around.... Go here... http://picturepush.com/upa Example...click to enlarge click where it says 'choose file' then select the pic from your computer.. Example.. then scroll to the bottom of the page and click FULL and you will be taken to the page where the full size image is displayed, copy the URL address shown. Paste the copied url address in between these please log in to view this image and hey presto. Not as hard as it seems once you've done it a few times. There's probably an easier way but I don't know it. please log in to view this image
Yes I can, I used the original shark image in the picture thread(not the resized pic on this thread) and hey presto..... please log in to view this image
