Watford are closing in on a surprise £3m deal for Bournemouth forward Max Gradel. Ivory Coast star Gradel, 29, has struggled with injuries since joining Bournemouth permanently in a £7m deal in 2015. Gradel is ready for a fresh start and the two clubs are in advanced negotiations about a switch to Vicarage Road. Mirror He will fit in well if he is injured.
Think we were interested in him before he moved to Bournemouth. At 3m worth the gamble. It also suggests we are going to either 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 more often than not. I would add that the purchase of Cleverley is further evidence of how we may play second half of the season.
TBF I think we will look much better with Amrabat/Janmaat fit and maybe one day Success! And Gradel is a decent outlet if fit and given a chance. Didn't feel so bad about the 2nd half performance on Saturday despite no goals but maybe that was because we were there for more important reasons.
He was one of those players who suffered a ACL injury but unlike Wilson and even Mings hasn't recovered as well from it.

We really need to start off-loading a number of players, considering all the non-home grown players we are linked with - we already have a full quota, with a number of players not even in the squad. I assume this was a big reason for going for Cleverly, and kind of wished we'd gone for Carroll from Spurs (and maybe even Bamford at Chelsea - with his pace, could have linked well with Deeney). Personally I think we could let go, without any real detrimental affect to the team; Arlauskis Paredes Dje Djedje Britos - we have Cathcart and Kabasele, with Mariappa making up the numbers - plus I think we may go 4 at the back soon Guedioura - love the guy and a fantastic Championship player, but the Prem is a step too high Capoue - maybe a bit controversial but he seems to play well for the first few months then either doesn't look bothered or just too tired/unfit. There were rumours Everton wanted him, so if it's good money, let him go. If we move to a 4-4-2, reinvest that money on a winger. CM I think we'd cope with what we have... Ighalo - He's not exactly playing, or contributing when he is, so if we can get good money from China, let him go. Also, if we could bring in a LB/LWB, I'd happily let Holebas go... he's good at times, bad at times, but such a bad attitude! Maybe a lot of changes to the squad, but only really 2 (3 with Holebas) to the actual first team, and 3 are already out of the squad anyway!
Well we don't want Gradel is seems.. Still in for Berahino though. http://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre
Agree with most of that - bar Dje Djedje who deserves a chance to prove himself. I think Capoue needs a new manager to get the best out of him - either by leaving or.... I'm not fussed on either of them to be honest.
Fair point on Dje Djedje - but if we keep him, then think we need to send Zuniga back from his loan (still consider him a full/wing back over a midfielder) to free up that spot. I think it also depends on how we play. It's a flat back 4, then we need cover for Janmaat. If we keep a 3-5-2, then we Amrabat as the cover for RWB, so think Dje Djedje would be a little wasted in the squad
Seriously though, hope Capoue´s position is under threat by Cleverley...maybe competition will do him good.

I can see a resemblance between Success and Ighalo , maybe another sort of Sale along the lines of Barnes and Blisset??
