Did anyone else notice the expression on the face of the translator , when asked if MP would say thank you to NA for the team he inherited ? Made me smile . On a side note , nice to see Claridge point out that it was Pardew who signed Lambert .
Lineker took it as a sign that the interpretor disagreed with the question, but the fact was that he remembered trying to explain the concept of gratitude in this situation to Mauricio in a previous press conference. It took him some minutes with a heated discussion with MP and an apology to the press that this was not easily translated into Spanish. Was amusing at the time.
Gary Lineker's idea of someone being upset is a bit odd. The translator actually smiled at the question because he knew what the answer would be. BTW, what's the translator's name? He needs to get some recognition.
Maybe if we just leave him as "the translator" he'll blossom into one of the best managers in the world? It's happened before.
It was a very poor question, which didn't qualify for the dignified answer it got. What sort of bone head do you have to be to say that crap? It annoyed me somewhat.

I'm waiting for the day that the interpretor will get so cocky he won't pass on the questions to Mauricio, but will just answer them directly. That'll make MP quicker to learn the language.
I think Mauricio is an idiot and our interpretor is a master tactician who doesn't pass on his true messages to the team
