I'm really, really hoping that the info Elland got from Phil Willis is correct, and not just a piece he read in the Sun and passed on to Elland/Jonty etc. Fingers crossed ...... If it does happen I'm expecting to see some great stories coming out in the media over the next few days. We know for a fact that David Conn will have a nice obituary written and ready to go to press, because he's been on Bates's case for years and has some reall dirt on him. The YEP have been garbage these last few years and seemed scared of Bates, but I hope they too have something lined up for his departure. It will be great to read what some ex players have to say ... Beckford, Killa, BJ, Snodds, Howson, AOB. Grayson only spoke up after he left, so him and Warnock should have some nice truths to say abot the old get. There could also be stuff from Levi and some of the Krasner people who got shafted by him too.
Why should Phil Willis know? Phil Willis is also a common name so no guarantee Jonty spoke to the one who was an MP, but why that ex- MP would have access to anything is beyond me Sounds to me like Jonty read the twitter blog that anyone can make anything up and try to get people to believe them. He does seem to have gotten everyone's hopes up and then if it doesn't happen he can 'blame' Phil Willis, his mate from Stevenage. I agree, and it would probably be called by Bates himself so he could have a last rant at people he hates before crowning himself the saviour of Leeds Utd for rescuing us and now bringing in "investors" - ie flogging it for massive profit.
Elmo/Jugster I've already said in another thread that I don't think this ones a runner, but I live in hope. As for Willis I'm aware that he was involved at the time of the last administration. He was also involved in the leeds City Council loan farce, and also a big part of the select comttee that made bates and harvey look stupid. he's also been in with a few people involved in earlier takeover talks that came to nothing and has some insight into the way Bates works. But not sure I accept that he's in the know about this deal, as it makes no sense unless he was involved in the early part of this with the prospective buyers ....??
