Lifeline for badge-selling family after decades serving fans of Hull City, Hull FC and Hull KR The same family has been selling DIY badges to sports fans in Hull for 30 years After approaching Hull City Council, officials at the Guildhall agreed to review the authority's current street trading policy introduced two years ago. At the moment it does not cover any activity around the two stadiums. Now proposed changes to the policy are set to go before the council's cabinet next week. If approved, new licenced street trading zones will be created around each stadium. Council officials have already indicated they are willing to offer him a substantially discounted fee compared to typical street trading licences covering mobile food vans elsewhere in the city. In a report to Monday's cabinet meeting, regeneration portfolio holder Councillor Paul Drake-Davis says: "We are keen to ensure that the council does what it can to support entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes no matter how small they are. Therefore it's important that the council recognises that the circumstances for those selling sporting merchandise outside the MKM Stadium and Craven Park on match days aren't the same as for other street traders operating across the city and so it needs to update its current street trading policy to reflect this." https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/hull-east-yorkshire-news/badge-selling-family-hull-city-7727182
