Interesting article on Hess leaving the door open for the Drogba look-a-likie... http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/story-13077917-detail/story.html
Quite an enjoyable read to be honest. Seems like a nice guy and is a realist, got his head screwed on. I didn't see him play but I hope he does well there. Hess obviously thought enough of him to help him out, not a common thing here it seems as trialists come and go regularly.
28, and a pro for 13 years..!! Yes, he sounds like an intelligent and thoughtful player, and Hess is obviously interested, but my interpretation of the situation with Gills is that I think its a matter of 'watch this space' for a couple of weeks yet. Gills are looking at further striking options, (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/g/gillingham/9555814.stm) but have shown in the past couple of months that a. They won't be panicked into making quick and therefore potentially unrelaible decisions and b. They play their cards very close to their chest when considering their options. The pool on which they can draw is still quite deep. There are still a huge number of out of contract players, or players that clubs would be willing to let go on free transfers. And then there's the possibility of loan players coming in when squads settle down in the coming weeks, and clubs assess their playing assets and requirements. Personally, if we are to get another striker in, I would prefer to see an established player rather than a young loan player. The bottom line is that we will need goals.
Quiet good to hear, just hope he does well as we don't want another Mark McCammon, he seems to know his way around the game so we will have to see.
