I was speaking to my football reporter mate at lunchtime. He does work for a redtop, reporting on us and the BS but he doesn't give me guff. He reckons we may have made a rod for our own back by paying so much for Henderson. He thinks this is a key reason why we haven't signed players like Adam, Downing and N'Zogbia yet. We're trying to get them on the cheap and the managers aren't playing. Apparently L'Arse really don't want to let us buy Clichy even though he really wants to come to us. He reckons we've got no chance of Mata, and Sunderland have put a significant offer on the table for Conor Wickham. Could be (and may well be) nonsense though. I'll wait until Kenny delivers the news.
Quite a few reports saying Sunderland have made a 13mil offer for Wickham, do you think you'll match that or is he not really a priority? Cant see him getting much game time for you.
I expect some serious bids for whoever the management have targeted over the next couple of weeks. Hate all this waiting!!!!
sounds feasible I guess - shame about Mata, I don't watch a lot of overseas footy but he stands out as something a bit special. The Adam deal is getting tedious now - gawd I hate the off season!
=================================================================================================================== If we have the money do we have to pay over the odds.?
I'll wait and see what happens regarding transfers. It would be nice to get them all in early but we have to trust King Kenny and the owners to get it right even if it takes longer than expected.
When Liverpool Football Club have something to tell us, they will. In King Kenny we trust. You'll Never Walk Alone!
I have a paranoid theory that Comolli is dragging his feet with the players that Kenny wants, because Kenny has not bothered with the French dross that Comolli wants to buy. You'll never convince me that a Director of football will ever work in this country.
Mourinho didn't want Frank Arnesen but Chelsea won the league with players he signed. His downfall was not signing the young players he was supposed to. Comolli said it's not the role but the people in them which is important. I hold with that. Kraftwerk had no guitarist but it worked for them, while Jethro Tull had a flute, which worked for them.
Come and strangle the ones that infest our garden mate - the bastards keep on digging up my brand new turf
