Dave L's blog feb 5th. Last paragraph hopefully is meaningful. How and when does it start? The news about a possible redevelopment of Ashton Gate, should we not be able to, or choose not to, proceed with the Ashton Vale redevelopment has certainly got our supporters talking. For some time now fans have been wondering if we had a âPlan Bâ, and itâs clear from todayâs announcement that this has been under consideration for a few months now. So much information has been released in such a short period of time; itâs no wonder there are still quite a few questions that fans want answering. There have been good reasons for keeping things under wraps so far, but we have now reached the crucial phase of engaging fully with our supporters as we start to put flesh on the bones of the existing plans. Itâs really important that if we do stay at Ashton Gate, our supporters are fully consulted on any changes that need to be made. Our first step will be to fully brief our Fans Parliament delegates at tomorrowâs meeting (February 6th). The Fans Parliament will be a key part of the consultation process. It contains representatives of all our key supporters groups: The Supporters Club and Trust, Senior Reds, Premier Club, Disabled Supporters Association, Fanzines, City Foundation, Former FCF members and representatives from each of the stands at Ashton Gate. Most fans should know one of their delegates, and you can see a full list of them here. If you have any questions about the stadium, or any input you would like to make, then please let one of your delegates know, or contact me directly. We will look to answer all initial questions at the meeting. One of the things we also need to discuss is the exact nature of how the consultation process will work over the next few months, as we look to develop our plans to the point at which we are ready to submit a proper planning application. Itâs worth reiterating managing director Jon Lansdownâs statement in his letter to all supporters, sent this morning: âThe stadium is being designed with you in mind. There will be full engagement and consultation on all the important elements, things that clearly matter to supporters.â That engagement starts now.
Clifton, forgive me mate but you're knowledge and information flow is terrific, what connection are you with the City set-up...? My reason for asking is I've just set up a ' suggestion box ' thread ongoing and I've been in contact with David L and he's agreed to cooperate on any fans suggestions but if your tagged in it makes sense to speak with you as well.. If you care to share your advice with us we would all benefit...cheers..
I tell my wife I don't need glasses, she says it's lucky you have long arms to hold that paper as far away from you as possible
I did send a couple of e mails to Dave L regarding this. Consultation starts with the fans parliament next month. This will then be widened out to include all fans. I have pointed out that if a full planning application is submitted in june/july as suggested in press releases that will leave a very tight timescale to consult fans and revise design if necessary.
After a recent visit to one of the worst grounds I have ever been in for atmosphere I hope they are in a hurry to do better.
